Diablo 4 Andariel, Maiden of Anguish Strategy Writeup

Andariel makes a return from Diablo 2, but her appearance is a far cry from her original design. Her new look has her in a more twisted and darker light.

During phase one, Andariel's arms will be chained to a wooden structure and will move slowly so players should take advantage of her speed. Andriel will cast rune chains with every step she takes in the area to slow you down if you get caught, the area around the rune chains are clearly telegraphed in black. A notable attack that she does is when she casts a Y-pattern or a cone pattern attack that covers a large area of the arena, the attack is telegraphed in red on the ground. She will be standing still when casting this attack and will cast it twice, each wave does deal damage when youre in it. So what players can do here is to stand in between the gaps when attacking her. Once in a while Andariel will teleport out of the arena and cast projectiles that players will need to avoid while she teleports back in the arena.

Phase two will begin when you remove 25% of her health, she will resemble her Diablo 2 original form and will move faster. Andariel will begin to use her claws to swing at you, players will simply have to sidestep this attack. She can also shove you with her claws, she will lean towards the left and bend over before she shoves you back with her claws, you can also sidestep this. Some notable attacks in her second phase with her chains. First she will use her chain to swing it downward in front of her, this attack is telegraphed when she has her chain on the right side and leans backwards before her attack, sidestep this attack while also avoiding the rune chains to avoid this attack. Another one is when she swings her chain from the side, this attack is telegraphed when she has her chain on the left and when she steps to the side. Sidestepping will help players avoid this attack.

Once Andariel has been defeated, she will drop small bundles of gold as well as up to 1 Legendary gear item, and 1 Rare gear item.
