Desperate Remedies is a Side Quest in Diablo 4. Desperate Remedies can be found in Wejinhani, at the Dismal Foothills in Hawezar. Side Quests are optional missions that players can complete in order to obtain different rewards. Players are usually rewarded XP, and Gold depending on your level. Completing Side Quests in a specific region will also add to the Region Renown. Side Quests can be acquired by encountering various events or interacting with different NPCs.

Desperate Remedies Walkthrough
Begin the Quest by speaking to a village Elder Lau in Wejinhani. Ask him, "What's wrong with these people?" It seems some kind if disease is plaguing the village. This will activate the Quest and highlight your next objective locations which will all just be within the village.
If you haven't already, make sure you activate the Waypoint here in Wejinhani before you leave.
- Speak with the other Elders: 0/3
They will all be west of your current location. The closest one will be Elder Geza-Dali. To the south will be Elder Akos, and to the north will be Elder Oranii. Speak to them and say, "Tell me about this new sickness." It seems the sickness started with some refugees from the north.
- Report your findings to Elder Lau
You'll need to delve deeper into what might've caused all this.
- Search the Pyres for Brecht's corpse
Head to the target location just to the north, in the Last Hearth still within the Dismal Foothills. Brecht's body will be the one lying on the circle to the east. Interact with it to drop his journal which you should then pick up.
- Speak with Elder Lau
Elder Lau will come running from his post. Talk to him and say, "I found Brecht's body. Here's his journal." Seems like Aldara is the cause, and her amulet is the key.
- Retrieve Aldara's Amulet from Light's Refuge
The next objective area will be far to the northwest, in the Banished Lord's Demesne. There, you'll have to enter a Dungeon called Light's Refuge. You can find the Dungeon on our Interactive Map here: [Diablo 4 Map Link]. As the Dungeon's layout is randomized, there's no set location for Aldara but explore the different areas until you find a small circle marking her location. She'll appear as a hostile Elite, bearing the Plaguebearer, Teleporter, and Chilling Wind Affixes. Defeating her will drop Aldara's Amulet, which you should pick up.
- Speak with Elder Lau
Teleport to the Wejinhani Waypoint and then head west to the Kareka Floodplain, where Elder Lau is waiting for you. Tell him, I had to kill Aldara for the amulet."
- Place the amulet on the altar
Interact with the altar near the elder to place the amulet there. After a few seconds, the elder will walk away for just a few steps.
- Speak with Elder Lau
Approach the elder and ask, "Are you alright?" It seems in his efforts to cleanse everyone, there had to be a sacrifice. This will complete the quest.
