Diablo IV Encroaching Shadows Walkthrough
At the end of Dark Omens, Donan sends you to visit the villages closest to the two druids who helped him slay Astaroth, Nafain and Airidah, in an attempt to track Lilith down. Two quests will unlock after you finish it - Encroaching Shadows and Feral Nature. Encroaching Shadows sends you to Braestaig, a settlement close to the druid Airidah.
To begin, follow your quest marker to the Wailing Hills in Scosglen. Braestaig will be found right at the border between Wailing Hills and the Carrowcrest Ruins. When you approach the right-side of the settlement, you'll be prompted to speak to Cheiftain Asgail. You'll catch her in the middle of an argument with a Knight Penitent, Knight Omas. When asked about a demon that passed by, they point you towards Airidah's domain, found at the top of a hill infested with evil spirits. Yorin volunteers to escort you.
Follow the quest marker along the road circling the northeast side of the settlement. When you reach the quest area, head to the east, where you'll find a ledge you can climb. Continue following this linear path and you'll find the entrance to the Weeping Cairns [Diablo 4 Map Link]. Speak to Yorin, who'll try to read the runes on the door to open it. While he's doing that, you need to protect him from the incoming enemies. Waves of Banshees and Vengeful Spirits will sporadically appear from the ground. Finally, you'll have to beat an Elite Banshee, after which Yorin will manage to get the doors open.
Once the doors are open, Encroaching Shadows will be complete, rewarding you with 8,517 XP and 1,260 Gold, and unlocking the next part of this quest chain, Exhuming the Forgotten.
