Fire DamageFire Bolt is a Sorceress Skill in Diablo 4. Fire Bolt deals fire damage and applies Burning over 8 seconds.
NOTE: Initial damage has increased from 10% to 18% as of Patch 1.1.0a.
Fire Bolt Diablo 4 Information
Fire Bolt belongs to the Sorceress class Skill Tree, and is part of the Basic Cluster.
Active Skills can be ranked up to Rank 5. Players can also Enhance and then Upgrade the skill to add new features to its effects.
Active Skills are represented by big square icons in the Skill Tree menu.
Fire Bolt Effects in Diablo 4
Fire Bolt can be upgraded up to Rank 5, by spending more skill points. Upgrading Fire Bolt will further increase its benefits depending on its rank:
Rank 1:

Diablo 4 Enhance & Upgrade for Fire Bolt
You can Enhance Fire Bolt to add the following effects:
- Enhanced Fire Bolt: Fire Bolt pierces through burning enemies.
After enhancing Fire Bolt, you may also Upgrade it, to get the following effects depending on the upgrade you selected. You may only choose 1 of these:
- Flickering Fire Bolt: Fire Bolt generates 2 mana when hitting a Burning enemy.
- Glinting Fire Bolt: Critical Strikes with Fire Bolt increase the Burning damage you deal to the enemy by 20% [x] for 4 seconds.
Enhancements and Upgrades are represented by diamond shaped icons in the Skill Tree menu
Diablo 4 Fire Bolt Enchantment Slot
When a Sorceress completes their Specialization and receive the Enchantment System, they can add Fire Bolt to one of the newly available slots. By doing so, they receive the following passive:
Rank 1:
- Direct damage from Skills applies up to an additional X [23%] Burning damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 2:
- Direct damage from Skills applies up to an additional X [23%] Burning damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 3:
- Direct damage from Skills applies up to an additional X [26%] Burning damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 4:
- Direct damage from Skills applies up to an additional X [28%] Burning damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 5:
- Direct damage from Skills applies up to an additional X [30%] Burning damage over 8 seconds.
