Frosthorn, Ice Clan Champion is a Boss in Diablo 4. Frosthorn, Ice Clan Champion is located at Malnok. Frosthorn, Ice Clan Championis a strong rabbit-like frost giant that wields a large axe. Bosses are special Enemies that can be defeated to complete Quests, progress through the game, and to acquire special Equipment. However, there are Bosses not-related to the main quests and can be found as a side activity or even roaming the world.

Frosthrons primary attack is using his axe to swing at you and there will be frozen projectiles that come out in front of him, there will also be times were he will also perform a jump attack onto you. Avoid this my simply dodging or sidestepping away. A more notable attack is when he lifts his axe up and it releases several frost pools beneath him that affects a large area of the arena. After performing this attack, singular frost pools will appear at random around the arena. Gradually the frost pools will start circling around the arena. If players get caught in the frost pool, they will get frozen in place for a brief moment. These frost pools are clearly telegraphed and can be sidestepped and dodged easily but will get harder throughout the boss fight. 

Once Frosthorn is defeated, head northeast  to the Wanderer's Shrine. Interact with it to conquer Malnok.

Once Frosthorn has been defeated, he will drop Gold and up to 2-3 Rare gear items, and 1 Magic gear item.

Attacks & Counters

Attack Counter
Frozen Projectiles: Frosthorn will fire frozen projectiles wherever he is facing and whenever he swings his axe. Simply sidestepping to avoid this attack.

Frost Pools: Frosthorn will release three variations of frost pools

  • Several frost pools that cover a large are beneath him
  • Singular frost pools that appear randomly in the arena
  • Cascading frost pools that will go around the arena one at a time.
 Avoid the frost pools as much as possible as you will end up getting frozen in place if you stay on a frost pool for too long.

      This guy is a wall for my Rogue. The AOE stuff never ends, and I just can't outpace the damage. I'm at a loss. Level 30 rogue, so most of the tree is opened up.
