Cold DamageIce Shards is a Sorceress Skill in Diablo 4. Ice Shards allows Sorceress to launch 5 shards dealing damage. Increased damage to Frozen enemies.
Ice Shards Diablo 4 Information
Ice Shards belongs to the Sorceress class Skill Tree, and is part of the Core Cluster.
Active Skills can be ranked up to Rank 5. Players can also Enhance and then Upgrade the skill to add new features to its effects.
Active Skills are represented by big square icons in the Skill Tree menu.
Ice Shards Effects in Diablo 4
Ice Shards can be upgraded up to Rank 5, by spending more skill points. Upgrading Ice Shards will further increase its benefits depending on its rank:
Rank 1:

Diablo 4 Enhance & Upgrade for Ice Shards
You can Enhance Ice Shards to add the following effects:
- Enhanced Ice Shards: Ice Shards have a 40% chance to ricochet to another enemy. Ice Shards always ricochet off of Frozen enemies.
After enhancing Ice Shards, you may also Upgrade it, to get the following effects depending on the upgrade you selected. You may only choose 1 of these:
- Greater Ice Shards: While you have a Barrier active, casts of Ice Shards treat enemies as if they were Frozen.
- Destructive Ice Shards: Hitting an enemy with 5 Ice Shards in a single cast makes them Vulnerable for 2 seconds.
Enhancements and Upgrades are represented by diamond shaped icons in the Skill Tree menu
Diablo 4 Ice Shards Enchantment Slot
When a Sorceress completes their Specialization and receives the Enchantment System, they can add Ice Shards to one of the newly available slots. By doing so, they receive the following passive:
Rank 1:
- Ice Shards automatically conjure and fly towards Frozen enemies.
Rank 2:
- Ice Shards automatically conjure and fly towards Frozen enemies.
Rank 3:
- Ice Shards automatically conjure and fly towards Frozen enemies.
Rank 4:
- Ice Shards automatically conjure and fly towards Frozen enemies.
Rank 5:
- Ice Shards automatically conjure and fly towards Frozen enemies.
