Diablo 4 Icehowl Ruins Walkthrough
Upon entering the dungeon, you'll find yourself within the Abandoned Halls. Head through the door ahead and continue following the main path. Be prepared to encounter a few enemies along the way. You'll eventually reach an area with two doors that you'll have to go through. The door on the right just leads to an empty room. So go through the door ahead and open another door across the hall. Continue straight ahead and deal with the enemies that spawn in the area. On the right, you'll see a Healing Well just before the stairs. You can use it to recover some HP if needed. Head down the stairs and head straight then turn right, there's a chest located there. Now from the chest, proceed to the left and continue moving forward. There will be some enemies such as an Elite Fiery Fallen and Fallen Shaman waiting for your arrival. Now head to the path on the right and you'll reach another Healing Well right beside an entrance. As you enter the room, you'll see a yellow marker on your map indicating you'll have to inspect the Decapitated Priest in the area. Once you interact with the Decapitated Priest, the dungeon boss, X'fal, The Scarred Baron will drop down from above, avoid the attack by stepping outside its AoE range before it hits the ground. This boss has a variety of attacks that you need to look out for. First is similar to what he did just as he entered the room, but this time you can see him jump up before landing on the ground, this attack can easily be avoided as you will see the white circle on the ground before he lands. He also has the ability to summon smaller enemies in the area. You'll see X'fal levitate and markings on the ground will glow, then connect to each other and turn into a star, if you get caught within the pentagon-shaped markings on the ground, you will become vulnerable for a while. The circles on the ground will then summon smaller enemies. His basic attack is where he slams twice on the ground, creating a shockwave for each hit. You can easily dodge this attack. Lastly, his ranged attack is where he swings his mace twice, then several projectiles will launch in the direction of where he swings. You can counter this by quickly repositioning yourself to his rear, then start attacking. Once you've slain X'fal, the dungeon is completed.
