On the Precipice is a Main Quest in Diablo 4. On the Precipice can be found at the Hawezar. Main Quests are mandatory missions that players must complete in order to finish the storyline and reach the next difficulty level. Main Quests must be done sequentially and are unlocked only after completing the previous Main Quest/s.

Diablo IV On the Precipice Walkthrough
It is time to rejoin your allies at Zakarum Keep to perform the ritual on the soulstone. Teleport to the Ruins of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court Waypoint, then speak to Donan found right next to the waypoint. Follow Donan north and enter the Foul Undercrypts [Diablo 4 Map Link]. Follow your allies into the Black Tomb of Sankekur, then prepare for a fight. Speak to Donan when you're ready.
As Donan, Lorath, and Neyrelle are performing the ritual, Taissa notices Elias enter the tomb. Follow Taissa down some steps to confront him, and don't forget to stock up on Health Potions by the Healing Well if you need more. When you reach him, Taissa will make a small remark about Elias owing the Tree of Whispers, after which the boss fight against Elias, Fallen Horadrim will begin.
Elias largely has the same moveset as his encounter during Piercing the Veil; as he loses more health, he summons more minions to his side. There are two moves in particular to watch out for. One are the red homing projectiles he summons when he lifts his right arm. If this move is dealing a lot of damage to you, try to move around the arena more to make it harder for the projectiles to track you.
Another move to look out for are the waves of blood he summons at a quarter health. When you get hit by this move, you will become vulnerable, taking increased damage from the boss. You can visualize these blood waves as pizza slices around Elias. There will be an indicators showing where the slices will hit before the waves themselves come out. Stand in the gaps between each slice to be safe from this move.
After you taking Elias down to a sliver of HP, he becomes enraged and flees after learning that you have discovered the secret to his immortality. The end of the cutscene will mark the end of the quest, rewarding you with some XP and Gold. Knee-Deep in Faith, the next quest, will begin right after.
