Paragon in Diablo 4 is an endgame feature to customize your build further after reaching Level 50 which unlocks the Paragon Board. This system was created to give the game huge replayability. Players must earn Paragon Points to then spend them to unlock Paragon Tiles from the Paragon Board in order to obtain certain buffs according to the unlocked Tile.

Paragon Boards

Paragon Boards are unlocked at Level 50. When the Paragon Board becomes available for the first time, players will have an starting unlocked Paragon Tile in the center of the first Board, then Paragon Points must be spent in order to unlock more Tiles, but players can only unlock tiles that are 'touching' a previously unlocked tile. There are multiple boards for each class and players can reach the next board by reaching the Tiles at the left or right border of the board.

The effects of Tiles are generally passive but depending on the Tile rarity, a single Tile may boost a huge part of your build. The boards are big enough to give the players huge space for creativity on the customization of their build.

Glyphs

Glyphs are found throughout the Sanctuary, these Items can be placed in Sockets. Sockets are special Tiles in the Paragon Board. By doing so, Tiles around the Glyph placed in the Socket will gain special passive boosts, covering a certain Radius that can be expanded by leveling up the Glyphs to involve more Tiles in the boost. This effect will only involve active tiles inside the area affected by the Glyph.

Renown & Paragon

Renown is a system of objectives that can be completed in order to gain Renown Points that can be later exchanged according to achieved Goal of points, to earn Rewards such as extra Potions Use, Skill Points and Paragon Points. Click to get more information about Renown.

Paragon may have separated Points counters for Hardcore characters as well as the Renown System.

Diversity of Builds

There's a Cap of the Paragon Points that a player can obtain, forcing the players to wisely choose their Paragon Build. Otherwise all builds would be very similar as all would consist on completing the Paragon Board and reducing the diversity into Skill compositions. The number of variables involved in Paragon system gives the game huge replayability as players must invest a lot of time in order to explore and work out their own build. For example: A certain Skill may not be recommended for a build until players find the correct Paragon Composition of Tiles to balance up that weak Skill, converting a it skill into an Ideal one for the build.

Paragon Boards in Diablo 4

The Paragon Board is a gameplay system in Diablo 4. It is similar to the Paragon system of previous Diablo games. The Paragon Board unlocks for each class at character Level 50, getting four points per level up to 100. When opened, the character starts at the central tile of the board, and from there, the player can make selections, radiating outward. Once the hero reaches a gate tile, the player chooses which new paragon board they want to attach at that location.

Paragon Points

Paragon Points are a gameplay mechanic that was introduced in Diablo III and is expected to return in Diablo 4. These points are used to further improve the performance and abilities of your character, even after reaching the maximum level.
In Diablo 4, players are expected to earn Paragon Points as they level up and complete certain objectives in the game. These points can be assigned to different Stats, such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Vitality, and other class-specific abilities.
Once Paragon Points have been assigned, you can see an increase in your character's performance, such as more attack damage, faster attack speed, increased resistance, or higher health regeneration, among other effects.
Paragon Points are expected to be an important way to improve and customize your character in Diablo 4, allowing you to further optimize your abilities and Stats to tackle the challenges of the game.

Dynamic & Connected Boards

Each Paragon Board has unique Tile layouts, new Magic and Rare Tiles, and a new Legendary Tile at the center. Paragon Boards are connected to one another via Gate Tiles extending the possibilities of character customization. Upon selecting from the Paragon Board list, the player will be able to place the board down, connecting it to the newly unlocked Gate Tile. The player may also optionally rotate that newly placed board.

Tiles

Tiles are unlocked by spending Paragon Points in them, but you can only unlocked Tiles that are "touching" a previouly unlocked TIle. Players will have to make a "path" of Tiles in order to reach better tiles. There are a few types of tiles:

Normal Tiles: These tiles are straightforward, providing a small but meaningful stat boost. Normal Tiles are connective tissues that can be found throughout the board and are quite common.
Magic Tiles: These are found in clusters throughout the board and provide a potent, more diverse set of benefits. They are less common than Normal Tiles, but are still plentiful.
Rare Tiles: Offer significant boosts in power. Upon entering the Paragon Board for the first time, these represent great goals for players to chase, particularly once you’ve narrowed builds down towards highly specific goals. Rare Tiles also have additional powers that unlock once the hero has raised an attribute to a sufficient level, requiring some choices to be made when plotting one's path through the board.
Legendary Tiles: After the first Paragon Board, each new board has a single Legendary Tile that can be found at its center. Legendary Tiles impart a new Legendary Power to the character that earns it.
Gate Tiles:
Socket Tiles: These are special tiles that can contain a Glyph. Glyphs are items found throughout Sanctuary that, when embedded into a Paragon Board, bring various benefits based upon the number of active tiles within their radius. Glyphs can also be leveled up. Leveling up a Glyph extends the radius of their effect, allowing each one to draw power from or impart power to even more active tiles.
Gate Tiles: Gate Tiles lie at each edge of each Paragon Board. As the player progress through the Paragon Board, they will eventually reach a Gate Tile, which upon unlocking will allow them to select a new Paragon Board to attach to the existing Board.

All Paragon Boards in Diablo IV

Barbarian Paragon Boards in Diablo 4 are another layer of character customization that becomes unlocked once the Barbarian reaches Level 50. The Paragon Boards contain Tiles that can be unlocked by spending Paragon Points on them. Tiles grant passive effects, and the magnitude of their benefits correspond to the Tile rarity.
