The Beast Within is a Main Quest in Diablo 4. The Beast Within can be found at Scosglen. Main Quests are mandatory missions that players must complete in order to finish the storyline and reach the next difficulty level. Main Quests must be done sequentially and are unlocked only after completing the previous Main Quest/s.

Diablo IV The Beast Within Walkthrough

The Beast Within begins immediately after speaking to Nafain's Wolf at the end of Feral Nature. He will wait for you before leading the way towards Nafain, so if you have any business to attend to, don't worry about failing the quest. When you're ready, join Nafain's Wolf in Boglann Stone Circle.

This quest works similar to an escort quest, where you have to follow an NPC to their destination. Nafain's Wolf, however, does not have a health bar and does not need to be protected on the way there. During your walk, you'll encounter multiple enemies including Mangy Hounds, Lycan Firewalkers, Lycan Terrors, Stinging Swarms, and Diseased Bears. You can choose to fight them all or simply run past them, though if you do the latter, be aware that some enemy attacks can slow you down. There is also an Elite Diseased Bear that you'll find near the end of the path.

At the end, climb up the cliff to reunite with Nafain's Wolf at the Heart of the Moors. Walk to the end of the area to find Nafain trapped within some tree vines. Speak to him and he'll recognise Donan's scent on you. He explains that Lilith is the one who put him in this predicament and that he is beyond saving. You can, however, help him find Lilith to the north and figure out what her plan is.

After the conversation ends, Nafain's Wolf, who we now know as Fiorban, will accompany you and The Beast Within will end. You'll be granted 10,319 XP and 1,440 Gold, and the next Main Quest, The Path of Rage, will begin immediately after.
