Weapon Affixes in Diablo 4 refer to all modifiers added to certain Items such as your Weapons. These affixes give your weapons bonus attributes, such as increased damage, critical hit chance, or resistance to certain types of damage. Affixes can be found in different item rarities, from Magic to Unique. dropped by enemies or purchased from merchants. Players can use crafting systems to add or modify Affixes on their items. This page will list all affixes found in Weapons.
What are the types of Affixes?
There are 3 categories of affixes based on their attributes and they can be split into three:
- Offensive - Affixes that can either inflict damage on Enemies, or increase the damage output of attacks, skills, or specific ailments applied to enemies.
- Defensive - Affixes that grant increased stats or buffs to support HP and Resource management.
- Utility - Affixes that do not fall under Offensive or Defensive will go here. This covers affixes geared toward tactical or strategic benefits such as movement speed, teleportation, and experience gain.
Transfer Affix Guide in Diablo 4
Transferring Legendary Affixes can be done by going to any Occultist in a town in Diablo 4. This can be done infinitely if you have the required materials. This will allow you to transfer a particular affix to your preferred Equipment.
One regular affix per gear can be swapped out by re-rolling through the same NPC but Legendary and Unique affixes can't be re-rolled, although you can swap out Aspects on a gear.
How do Affixes Work in Diablo 4?
Weapon Affixes in Diablo 4 are stats or properties modified into a weapon from Magic, Rare, Legendary, and Unique items. Weapon affixes play an important role in terms of player builds, and will alter skills, increase the effects, and some can even modify the attack. Below, we listed the number of affixes that will drop depending on the rarity:
- Magic: 1-2 Regular Affixes
- Rare: 2-3 Regular Affixes
- Legendary: 4 Regular Affixes + 1 Legendary Affix
- Unique: 4 Regular Affixes + 1 Unique Affix

To identify which affixes, regular affixes can be seen on an item's description box and is usually in white font color, meanwhile, both Legendary and Unique affixes will be denoted by a star icon and highlighted in an orange font color.
Depending on an item's rarity, each item can have up to 4 Regular Affixes that can be commonly found across different gears. A Legendary item can only have 1 Legendary affix, and a Unique item can only have 1 Unique Affix.
Weapons Affix Guide Diablo 4
The Occultist in any Town can attend to all your needs related to your aspects and affixes. There are 3 services that you can get from the Occultist:
- Extract Aspect - Extract an affix from a Legendary item and then it will be stored in an Aspect container. This will destroy the Legendary item and will cost a gold fee.
- Imprint Aspect - Transfer an existing aspect from your Codex of Power to your preferred equipment. There will be materials needed for imprinting and a gold fee.
- Enchantment - Re-roll the existing affixes of your Rare or Legendary item for a chance to get better affixes. There's an enchantment fee and the materials required will vary.
These processes are infinite, and you can keep transferring your affixes as needed. However, some crafting materials can be hard to come by and it might take multiple salvage processes to get your needed materials. You can salvage unwanted items to turn them into crafting materials by going to The Blacksmith.
Note: Aspects that were previously extracted may only be imprinted once. After the imprint, it can't be extracted any longer.
