Frozen Orb is a Sorceress Skill in Diablo 4. Frozen Orb unleashes an orb that Chills enemies for 34% and releases piercing shards, dealing damage. Upon expiration, Frozen Orb explodes, damaging enemies and Chilling them for 9%. 

NOTE: Enchantment chance to be cast increased from 20% to 30% as of Patch 1.1.0a.

Frozen Orb Diablo 4 Information

Frozen Orb belongs to the Sorceress class Skill Tree, and is part of the Core Cluster.

Active Skills can be ranked up to Rank 5. Players can also Enhance and then Upgrade the skill to add new features to its effects.

Active Skills are represented by big square icons in the Skill Tree menu.

Frozen Orb Effects in Diablo 4

Frozen Orb can be upgraded up to Rank 5, by spending more skill points. Upgrading Frozen Orb will further increase its benefits depending on its rank:

Rank 1:

• Shards Damage X [36%]
• Explosion Damage X [34%]

Rank 2:

• Shards Damage X [40%]
• Explosion Damage X [37%]

Rank 3:

• Shards Damage X [43%]
• Explosion Damage X [41%]

Rank 4:

• Shards Damage X [47%]
• Explosion Damage X [44%]

Rank 5:

• Shards Damage X [50%]
• Explosion Damage X [48%]

Diablo 4 Enhance & Upgrade for Frozen Orb

You can Enhance Frozen Orb to add the following effects:

• Enhanced Frozen Orb: When cast above 50 Mana, Frozen Orb's explosion damage is increased by 30% [x].

After enhancing Frozen Orb, you may also Upgrade it, to get the following effects depending on the upgrade you selected. You may only choose 1 of these:

• Destructive Frozen Orb: Frozen Orb's explosion restores 5 Mana when hitting a Frozen enemy.
• Greater Frozen Orb: Frozen Orb's explosion has a 30% chance to make all enemies hit Vulnerable for 2 seconds. Frozen Orb always makes Frozen enemies Vulnerable.

Diablo 4 Frozen Orb Enchantment Slot

When a Sorceress completes their Specialization and receives the Enchantment System, they can add Frozen Orb to one of the newly available slots. By doing so, they receive the following passive:

Rank 1:

• When you cast a Non-Basic Skill, you have a 20% chance to launch a Frozen Orb at a Nearby enemy.

• When you cast a Non-Basic Skill, you have a 20% chance to launch a Frozen Orb at a Nearby enemy.

Rank 5:

• When you cast a Non-Basic Skill, you have a 20% chance to launch a Frozen Orb at a Nearby enemy.
