Lunar Awakening is a Seasonal Event in Diablo 4. Lunar Awakening is a Seasonal Event that is introduced during the Season of the Construct. During this limited-time event, participants will have the opportunity to harness the power of Lunar Shrines to gain valuable XP boosts. Seasonal Events are special, optional Quests, that players can partake in in order to experience new challenge content, and objectives and gain rare rewards. This is content introduced during different Seasons in addition to the Season Journey objectives. Lunar Awakening Location & Information Diablo 4
- Start Location: Head to Ked Bardu in the Dry Steppes.
- Duration: One week.
- Start Date: February 6, 2024 at 10 AM PST
- Season Start: Season of the Construct
Start by heading to Ked Bardu in the Dry Steppes map. Find Ying-Yue, the leader of the Lunar Night Market, in the city's northern part, and talk to her to begin the Lunar Awakening event. Discover Lunar Shrines scattered around Sanctuary, both in open areas and dungeons. Activate them to get a 50% XP boost and a 30% movement speed buff. Each Shrine has unique bonuses like special attacks and damage reflection. Interact with Lunar Shrines to build up Ancestor’s Favor reputation. Also, participate in Lunar Awakening events across Sanctuary to boost your Ancestor's Favor. The Lunar Awakening event runs from February 6 to February 20, 2024. Both Seasonal and Eternal characters can join in.
Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening Key Features
Bonus XP and Increased Movement Speed
Players will enjoy a 50% bonus experience points, which is multiplicative, making it an excellent opportunity for leveling up characters.
There will be a 30% increased movement speed, providing a faster-paced and more dynamic gameplay experience.
Earning Ancestor's Favor Reputation
Engage in both dungeons and the overworld, activating Lunar Shrines and defeating monsters to accumulate Ancestor's Favor reputation.
Take note of the Dragon-adorned Shrines and prioritize activating them for additional rewards.
Nightmare Dungeon Sigils and Lunar Awakening Affix
Nightmare Dungeon Sigils and Nightmare Vault Sigils may have the Ancestor's Favor dungeon affix during Lunar Awakening. This affix guarantees that only Lunar Shrines will spawn in the dungeon, providing an opportunity to maximize Ancestor's Favor reputation and Glyph XP.
Bonus Glyph XP in Nightmare Dungeons
Complete Nightmare Dungeons with the Ancestor's Favor affix to receive a 10% bonus Glyph XP. Use this bonus to enhance your character's abilities and progress more efficiently during the Lunar Awakening event.
Lunar Shrines
Lunar Shrines are scattered throughout Sanctuary, easily identifiable by their unique appearance adorned with a Dragon in celebration of Lunar Awakening. Look for the distinct Lunar Shrine Map icon to quickly spot them from a distance. Prioritize activating Lunar Shrines to earn copious amounts of Ancestor's Favor reputation. Take advantage of the unique benefits provided by Lunar Shrines, such as increased movement speed, XP bonuses, and potential cosmetic rewards.
Augmented Lunar Shrine Effects
- Artillery Shrine – Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
- Blast Wave Shrine – Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
- Channeling Shrine- Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
- Conduit Shrine – Summon frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
- Greed Shrine – Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, 25 kills summons a Treasure Goblin, and 50 kills summons a second.
- Lethal Shrine – Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. Note: this includes Elites, but excludes Bosses and other Players.
- Protection Shrine – You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and World Tier.
On top of these powerfully amplified effects, Miserly spirits spawn immediately when a Lunar Shrine is activated, allowing you to immediately capitalize on the Shrines’ specific gameplay augmentation.
Whisper Bounties
Explore the game during Lunar Awakening for special content, such as themed Whisper Bounties and exclusive cosmetic items. Blizzard is introducing cosmetics during the event, and there may be exclusive cosmetic items available only for this event.
Stockpiling Nightmare Dungeon Sigils
Nightmare Dungeon Sigils with the Ancestor's Favor affix will retain this bonus even after the Lunar Awakening event concludes. Consider stockpiling these sigils during the event, allowing you to continue benefiting from the Lunar Shrine affix in future dungeon runs.
