Midwinter Cache in Diablo 4 are special caches introduced in the Season of Blood, the Midwinter Blight. Midwinter Caches are a reward given by participating in the Seasonal Event that will provide players with a random collection of Armor, Items, and Equipment. The Midwinter Cache is only available during the specific period and becomes obsolete after the event.

This event is the first-ever holiday event introduced in Diablo 4. It begins in Kyovashad where players will encounter a Bard named Gileon in Midwinter Square who warns players of the incoming storm. Players will also find the Totem of Midwinter in the same location in Kyovashad which will play a part in the event which will predominantly take place in Fractured Peaks.

Midwinter Blight features Midwinter Caches as part of its reward system. This Seasonal Event officially marks the beginning of the first-ever winter festivities in Diablo 4 and during this period, all participating players can earn cosmetic rewards, a new elixir, additional titles, and a new seasonal aspect as part of the Midwinter Blight Rewards. All rewards, including the Midwinter Cache, can only be obtained during the event period which runs from December 12 to January 2. Once the event expires, players can no longer earn these rewards, however, non-seasonal rewards will remain in inventories.

How to Get Midwinter Cache in Diablo 4
The Midwinter Cache can be purchased from Gileon at Midwinter Square in Kyovashad. Alternatively, players can also earn a Midwinter Cache each time they complete a Nightmare Dungeon during the Seasonal Event after reaching Midwinter Tribute Tier 3 and Greater Midwinter Spoils are available as a reward for progressing the Midwinter Tribute. There are 3 types of Midwinter Caches available in Diablo 4:
- Midwinter Purse (costs 1 Midwinter Proof)
- Midwinter Spoils (costs 4 Midwinter Proof)
- Greater Midwinter Spoils (reward from Midwinter Tribute Tier progress)
Leveling the Midwinter Tribute Diablo 4
Before you begin farming these Midwinter Caches, remember that you have to progress your Midwinter Tribute to Tier 3, which will unlock the Midwinter Ward in Kyovashad. In order to progress your Midwinter Tribute, all you have to do is exchange any of the Midwinter Blight - Event Materials into a Midwinter Proof. You can do this by visiting the Collection's Table in Kyovashad. Once you have gathered enough materials, exchange them for Midwinter Proof, and every time you exchange an event material, you will gain a corresponding experience points:

The cosmetics alone will cost a total of 440 Midwinter Proofs. During our playthrough, it took 15 minutes to farm 10 Midwinter Proofs using a Level 86 Build. This is a combination of Blighted Fragments and Lost Heirlooms. This number may vary depending on how fast and efficient your current build is at farming materials. From the same vendor, players may also buy the Shard of Dawn Offensive Aspect and the new Magical Elixir, Gileon's Brew. Two types of Midwinter Caches are available for purchase from the same vendor at Midwinter Square. Each of the caches contains valuable rewards such as Armor, Gem Fragments, and a chance to receive a Gileon's Brew.
What does the Midwinter Ward Do in Diablo 4?
The Midwinter Ward provides a special buff that you can acquire after unlocking Tier 3 in Midwinter Tribute. The Midwinter Ward is located next to Gileon's shop in Midwinter Square where you can interact with it to gain the buff. The Midwinter Ward provides players with bonus damage against Blightfiends and the Red-Cloaked Horror.
The Midwinter Ward not only works well with fighting off enemies but also works great with the new aspect, Shard of Dawn Offensive Aspect. If you have the new aspect equipped, it will increase your attack speed and movement speed for some time, making farming Midwinter Caches more efficient.
What's Next in Midwinter Blight Diablo 4?
Now that you have unlocked the Midwinter Ward, and your Midwinter Tribute is at least Tier 3, your next objective is to farm Event Materials. You can then use these items to exchange them for a Midwinter Proof and buy the cosmetics that are available for a limited time. Players may spend their Midwinter Proof to purchase Midwinter Caches that will reward them with a random collection of Items.
Always return to Kyovashad and exchange your Event Materials into the new currency so you can purchase the rewards before the event expires.
