Season of Blood for Diablo 4 is the First Season of Diablo 4. Season of Blood features new vampiric threats that players will have to defeat with the help of a new character known as Erys, and by using the Enemies' Vampiric Powers against them. Season of Blood offers updates along with Patch 1.2, bringing with it new mechanics like all-new Endgame Bosses. Diablo 4 was released initially for Early Open Beta on March 17 – 19th, Open Beta on March 24 – 26th, and the full release was on June 6th, 2023. Diablo 4 is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

Diablo 4 Season of Blood Seasonal Pass Overview
A new threat is once again posed to wreak havoc in Sanctuary, as the Dark Master commands his legion of sanguine-driven monsters to set their fangs on all the regions of unfortunate humanity. While vampiric danger is not new to the world of Sanctuary, this vampire threat proves to be different and more formidable. Therefore, the player will have to fight a new way by harnessing Vampiric Powers themselves to combat the infestation. With the help of Erys, the vampire hunter who came up with this very realization, this new Season will have you harness new sanguine powers to destroy the new threat.
Players are now able to learn and improve Vampiric Powers by collecting and using Potent Blood, which is earned from killing Blood Seekers, the generals of the vampire legion, and their army of vampires, freeing prisoners taken by the vampires, and opening Seeker Caches. There will be more than enough opportunities to earn these in the new features and events that the Season of Blood has to offer.

As with the previous Season, the Season of Blood also introduces new Enemies, mechanics, quality-of-life updates, and cosmetics earned from the battle pass. Players will get to play a seasonal character and play in the seasonal realm and enjoy new features such as the following:

Diablo 4 Season of Blood New Powers
Unlike most other powers, like the Malignant Hearts of the last Season, none of the all-new Vampiric Powers will be tied at all to any Class. Players will be able to learn and equip their first Vampiric Power shortly into the new Questline, during the Quest The Hunter's Chase. There are twenty-two new Vampiric Powers in total that players will be able to build into their characters for the Season of Blood. Vampire Powers can be managed through their own new tab on the Character menu.
On the Vampiric Powers tab, players can click on the option to spend Potent Blood which will allow them to either improve or unlock new powers. The system makes it so that players will have to choose from three randomly selected Vampiric Powers, locked or unlocked, to spend their Potent Blood on. If a locked Vampiric Power is chosen, it will be unlocked and ready for the player to use. If it is unlocked, it will be improved instead. Vampiric Powers can be improved up to two times, for a maximum level of three. The wanderer can equip a maximum of five Vampiric Powers at a time.
Pact Armor
With the Pact Armor System, the player's Armor is now more intrinsically tied to their Builds. Players will not be able to reap the benefits of Vampiric Powers without making sure that they reach the activation cost for them through the Pacts built into their Armor pieces. There are three types of Pacts - Pact of Ferocity, Pact of Divinity, and Pact of Eternity. Each Vampiric Power will have activation costs relative to their strength. Rare Armor pieces that you pick up in Season of Blood will have different Pacts already assigned to them. From there, it will just be a matter of matching your Armor's Pact with the activation costs of your desired Vampiric Power. It's important to note that each Armor piece will have a maximum amount of Pacts it can carry, but what will matter is if the cumulative number of Pacts across all your Armor pieces can match the Vampiric Powers' activation costs.
New Crafting Items
Players who are having trouble matching their Pact Armor to the activation costs of the Vampiric Powers that they desire can breathe a little easier thanks to the new Items that will help with that endeavor. Cleansing Acid Items can either remove one of the three specific types of Pacts on your Armor pieces or all of them at once. Pact of Ferocity, Pact of Divinity, and Pact of Eternity Items can be used on Armor pieces to add Pacts to them if they don't already have the maximum number of Pacts. These Items can be collected from Blood Harvest events, the new Questline, and Season Journey rewards.
New Keyword
To complement the release of twenty-two new Vampiric Powers, players will have to take into account a new mechanic for their build in the form of an all-new keyword - Vampiric Curse.
Vampiric Curse: Killing an enemy affected by your Vampiric Curse stores their soul. Casting a Defensive, Macabre, or Agility Skill will unleash stored souls to attack nearby enemies. You can hold up to 8 souls.
Season of Blood NEW Seasonal Events
Seasonal Events were introduced mid-season to add further content for those who have finished the campaign. These are temporary events that last for a set period. Once the event dates have past players will no longer have access to its content, but will gain some rewards to participating. The Abattoir of Zir is an Endgame Event that requires players to defeat all the Endgame Bosses and reach level 100 before gaining access to its contents. Once players meet all requirements they can then follow all the steps to begin the event and participate. A new holiday event was also introduced, changing the conditions of Fractured Peaks for the winter. Learn all details for each event from their respective pages below.
Season of Blood: NEW Endgame Bosses
The new Season of Blood brings with it five new Endgame Bosses that players can attempt to overcome for their valuable treasures. These new Bosses are only available in certain World Tiers, and are introduced with a new mechanic of summoning them in their respective Locations in Sanctuary. Doing so requires collecting materials that are acquired from finishing other Endgame content, such as high-level Helltide Events, high-tier Nightmare Dungeons, and destroying other Bosses over and over again. Players brave enough to face these new difficult threats are now able to farm them for Unique Items specific to each of their pools of loot. The Echo of Duriel, the new level 100 Boss, has Uber Unique Items in his loot pool. This new feature seems to be in response to player feedback of there not being enough opportunities for farming Uber Unique Items, and for target-farming specific Unique Items for their character Builds.

Season of Blood: NEW Gear and NEW Cosmetics
It's time to go hunting again for new gear in Diablo 4 with the arrival of new Unique Items, new Legendary Aspects, and Scrolls of Amnesia. Players are encouraged to create a new character and try out different Builds for a Class, or simply experiment with something new, especially with the new Vampiric Powers. The system of creating a Seasonal Character is a chance to get creative while fighting demons, as you collect and earn new gears for your character.

Preparing for a New Season in Diablo 4
Seasons in Diablo 4 means you also get seasonal characters. All your characters will start anew, and players will all begin to farm and level up their characters. Luckily, there are some progress, details and explorations that will translate over to the new pass such as:

- Renown
- Paragon Points
- Potion Charges
- Skill Points
At the moment, these are known to last across all seasons so players will not have to re-do them again. Players will be able to focus on the Battle Pass Content and enjoy it whether Free, Premium, or Accelerated Battle Pass. Players can also choose whether to play in the Seasonal Realm or the Eternal Realm. Eternal Realm refers to the regular Diablo 4 but without the Seasonal features such as rewards, journey, and new items.

How to access Season of Blood?
As with the previous Season of the Malignant, to participate in the new upcoming season on October 17, Wanderers must create a new character on the Seasonal Realm. This is a free feature offered to all owners of Diablo 4. However, players must have completed the Main Campaign on at least one of the characters on the Eternal Realm, or Season 0. Once the main campaign has been completed, Wanderers can now participate in Season of Blood. To begin, players will be given the option to:
- Skip the Campaign
- Mount is available immediately for use on Seasonal Realm
- All Altars of Lilith are unlocked, and the Renown Points will be retained
- All Paragon Points and Obol Cap increases from the Renown System will be retained
- All previously discovered maps and the corresponding Renown Points will be retained
Once the season ends, the progress that you have made on the Seasonal Realm will be transferred to the Eternal Realm. This includes all the items you collected on your Seasonal stash, but season-specific features such as the Vampiric Powers may or may not be carried over.
Earn Rewards with Season Journey and Battle Pass
Route the vampire pestilence, and your efforts will be rewarded through the Season Journey. The Season Journey is broken down into Chapters, each with its own corresponding tasks to complete. As you progress in your discovery, you will earn rewards such as Legendary Aspects, A unique Title, and three Scrolls of Amnesia. This new item will provide Free Skill Tree and Paragon Board Reset, which usually costs almost a million if you're in the Endgame levels of 70+.
Aside from that, participating in the Season Journey will also grant Wanderers Favors, which is the currency needed to level up the Battle Pass levels, whether Free, Premium, or Accelerated. Favors are granted by killing Enemies, completing Quests, and more during the Season of Blood.
How to Get Diablo 4 Season of Blood Battle Pass?
Season of Blood is a free seasonal pass for all owners of Diablo 4. There is an upcoming battle pass that will be featured as well including Free Battle Pass, Premium Battle Pass, and Accelerated Battle Pass. Check out the details below:

Battle Pass Progression Diablo 4
When players complete objectives, they are granted Favor which unlocks additional Season Journey Chapters. The higher the levels of the Season Journey Chapters that are unlocked, the more difficult these challenges will get. These objective requirements will range from collecting materials to completing dungeons to participating in local events.
It is known that the Battle Pass will take roughly up to 80 hours to unlock fully over the three months (90 days) of the duration of the Battle Pass. Players will be able to unlock 1 Tier a day to complete the Battle Pass by the end of the Season.
Leveling Up Battle Pass in Diablo 4
Players can complete Objectives for each Chapter of the Season Journey to progress through the Battle Pass to earn rewards. Favor will be rewarded to players upon completing the objectives as well as general gameplay with a Seasonal character. Favor unlocks additional Chapters of the Season Journey and additional Tiers of the Seasonal Battle Pass.
Aside from Favor, players can also purchase the Accelerated Battle Pass to unlock 20 Tier Skips or purchase Tier Skips individually with Platinum. However, to unlock these Tiers, players will need to earn Smoldering Ash by progressing the Battle Pass and leveling up Seasonal characters to a required level. Purchasing Tier Skips is different from unlocking these tiers.

What gets Carried over in Seasons?
Blizzard has confirmed that players will need to create a new character every new season. Some attributes will be carried over across seasons such as renown, map discovery, Altars of Lilith, potion charges, skill points, and overall story progression. This means that players will be able to fully enjoy and explore the new season as soon as it is released.
What are the cosmetics included in the Battle Pass?
The Battle Pass includes a variety of cosmetics that players can use to customize their characters. The majority of the Battle Pass rewards consist of cosmetics for your Armor or Weapons, Backpacks, Mounts, and Emotes.

What is a Battle Pass?
Diablo 4's Battle Pass acts as a reward system that allows players to complete specific tasks and challenges in return for rewards you can get for free as well as premium rewards by purchasing the Premium Battle Pass or the Accelerated Battle Pass.
There will be a wide range of new quests, objectives, items, and multiple ways to earn in-game currency all across the three different Battle Passes. Players will need to note that the main campaign must be completed before taking part in the new content added in the first seasonal update.
