Diablo 4 Malnok Walkthrough

malnok stormcaller strongholds diablo 4 wiki guideMalnok is a settlement in the Fractured Peaks that's been occupied by the Ice Clan Khazra, used to perform their rituals. Upon arrival, you will notice the village has been completely engulfed in an unnatural blizzard, with its presumed former inhabitants frozen into statues. Head for the center of town to find a group of Khazra surrounding one large Champion whom you cannot interact with yet. You may notice beams of light high above the sky. These are the key to proceeding in this stronghold. You must follow the beams of light to find three Ice Clan Stormcallers, responsible for the frigid storm blanketing the area. They are also marked on the map with skulls so finding them shouldn't prove too dififcult.

malnok broken bridge strongholds diablo 4 wiki guideStarting with the beam coming from the west, navigate your way to the northwest of the village center past the Healing Well to find a rope post by a broken bridge. Traverse the rope to reach the other side of the bridge where a group of Khazra are guarding the first Stormcaller who will be immune to damage until the Ritual Guardian elite named Coldaxe is defeated. To ensure an easy time, clear the lesser enemies first, then work on the elite, and then finally slay the Stormcaller to fill one segment of the objective progress bar. From here, you can take the path in the south to drop back down to ground level and then head east towards a large house.

The second Stormcaller can be found up in the cliffs to the south of this house. Check the bottom right for a wall you can scale to reach the cliffs and follow the path towards the Stormcaller. Once again, clear the enemies and defeat the Ritual Guardian, this time named Winterspear and then slay the Stormcaller. Break the weakened ice barriers to the left of the cliffs to make your way back down to the large house. There should be a new group of enemies that have spawned. Defeat them and then make your way to the back of the house.

At the back, scale the walls to the northeast and follow the path above to a cave where once again, a large group of Khazra are guarding the final Stormcaller. Clear the cave including Rimescar the elite Ritual Guardian, and then slay the Stormcaller. Once the objective is complete, return to the village center and clear the remaining Ice Clan Khazra surrounding the champion. After this is done, the boss encounter against Frosthorn, Ice Clan Champion will commence.

Malnok Boss Fight

malnok boss strongholds diablo 4 wiki guide

From the outset, Frosthorn appears to be your standard large brute with slow, but powerful attacks and this is mostly true, but he also has a couple of tricks up his sleeve. Frosthorn attacks with a large battle axe and expels small frost projectiles with every swing. The projectiles are easy enough to dodge, even for ranged characters. Periodically, Frosthorn will also leap into the air and slam his axe down hard, dealing damage in a large radius and releasing the frost projectiles in a starburst pattern. Simply dodge to his back and in between the projectiles, and then retaliate with a few attacks until he recovers.

Close to 80% Health, Frosthorn will stop and begin channeling a spell which creates multiple spinning frost orbs on the ground which will deal a small amount of damage within their AoEs as they form. After a brief moment, the orbs will explode, dealing moderate damage and freezing players caught in the blast radius. From here on, orbs will keep spawning one by one, encircling the boss so you must move around while dealing damage. Periodically, Frosthorn will channel once again, summoning multiple orbs at once in varying patterns. The automatically spawning orbs and the ones he channels can overlap in their AoEs, and they can also overlap with his standard melee attacks so pay close attention to the telegraphs. Getting frozen by the orbs will open you up to the boss' devastating melee attacks, so take your take dealing damage and focus on avoiding the hazards from the orbs.

Once the boss falls, check the northeast to find the Wanderer's Shrine. Interact with it to conquer Malnok.

Completing Malnok will convert it into a player-friendly settlement complete with its own vendors, but surprisingly no Waypoint.
