Stable Master | Diablo 4 Wiki

The Stable Master is a Merchant in Diablo 4. Merchants or Vendors in the types of NPCs that provide various services or have a tradable stock where players can interact and trade with these set Merchants. Stable Masters specialize in services related to Mounts. Various other Merchants for other goods can be encountered throughout the map as well.

How to Unlock the Stable Master in Diablo 4

Mounts and Stable Master Services in Diablo 4 are not readily available at the start of the game despite passing the stable at an early stage. Players must first complete a Priority Quest called Donan's Favor which can be activated by speaking to the Stable Master in Kyovashad. Completing the quest will give players access to Mount and the Mount services at the Stable Master.

Unlocking Mounts through the quest also automatically completes the Mount Up Challenge.

Mounts can be purchased from a Stable Master or discovered throughout Sanctuary. Once acquired, each mount will be available to all characters on your account.

Stable Master Services Diablo 4

D4 Stable Masters provide services related to Mounts. Interact with any Stable Master to be able to gain new mounts or access your Mount customization options. In Diablo 4, players will have the ability to modify their horse's breed, Armor, or Saddle, or be able to display a Trophy. Stable Masters do not stock up on Mount Cosmetics. Another Vendor called the Unconventional Steed Armor Vendor can be approached for additional Steed Armor options. Players with existing Cosmetic items or trophies can then access and manage all their Mount cosmetics at the Stablemaster. Cosmetics can also sometimes be obtained by clearing Treasure Goblins in the game.

Stable Masters are not necessarily Merchants and do not carry Steed Equipment in their stock. Instead, Mounts can be acquired by participating in the Gathering Legions Event or by uncovering different locations. Additional Steed Equipment can be found by interacting with a different vendor, the Unconventional Steed Armor Vendor.

Unconventional Steed Armor Vendor

The Unconventional Steed Armor Vendor is a Merchant that solely accepts Red Dust as a currency in exchange for items in their stock. Players will find various Steed Armor and cosmetic options that can then be equipped or managed by interacting with any Stable Master.

How to Earn Red Dust

Red Dust in Diablo 4 is a type of currency that can only be obtained in Diablo 4's Endgame PvP within the PvP Zones also known as the Fields of Hatred. This is where players can obtain Seeds of Hatred which can then be converted into Red Dust if they are brought to the Altar of Extraction. Once they are turned into Red Dust they can be then used to spend on unique items. Note: Red Dust is not a tradable item.

Where to find Stable Masters Diablo 4

Stable Masters and Merchants in general are usually found together in large cities, settlements, waypoints and capitals. One of the main locations is the main city, Kyovashad where you can find a number of Vendors condensed in the busy area. Vendors will also have a unique icon to identify them on the map. Stable Master can then also be identified with the symbol on the map. Each Shop in different locations will be manned by different NPCs.
