The Alchemist is a Merchant NPC in Diablo 4 that can provide various consumables to aid your character's progress. What are Uber Uniques?
Uber Uniques are highly sought items that are considered some of the most powerful items in Diablo 4. Uber Uniques always provide a 925 Item Power, and has the highest possible Affix Values and Unique power. Presently, there is a total of 7 different Uber Uniques in Diablo 4.
How to Obtain Uber Uniques?
Drops in Diablo 4 are based on an RNG (Random Number Generator) system that determines the player's loot. The same system applies to Uber Uniques, and they can be dropped by any monster that is Level 85 and above. Killing Uber Duriel has also been introduced which has an increased overall chance of dropping Uber Uniques, and is currently the best way to farm Uber Uniques in Diablo 4. Now, Diablo 4 has introduced a new service from The Alchemist that lets players craft Uber Uniques of their choice.
Uber Uniques Crafting Guide in Diablo 4
The Alchemist now offers a new service called Transmutation which lets you craft any Uber Unique of your choice in exchange for Resplendent Sparks. The option to craft is located on the third tab upon viewing the services of The Alchemist. To craft an Uber Unique, players need to present 5 Resplendent Sparks.
How to Get More Resplendent Sparks?
Resplendent Sparks is a new resource collected by salaving unwanted Uber Unique Items. Each Uber Unique yields 1 Resplendent Spark, which means that you will need 5 unwanted Uber Uniques to craft the item of your choice. Additionally, salvaging an Uber Unique will unlock their appearance for Transmog, which will alter the appearance of that item for your character. You can salvage your Uber Uniques by visiting The Blacksmith in any town.
How to unlock the Alchemist
As your character advances to Level 10 in the game, a Priority Quest is triggered, requiring you to visit The Alchemist in Kyovashad. Here, you are presented with the task of enhancing your base Weak Healing Vial to a more effective Tiny Healing Vial, which boosts your life by an additional 30 points at the cost of 8 Gallowvine.
Once you complete this task, you gain access to the Alchemist's menu where you can track the necessary materials and level requirements for upgrading your Vial, as well as explore other crafting options. With the Alchemist unlocked, you can also explore the crafting of various consumables, including Elixirs, and discover the contents of the unfinished Incense tab. The Alchemist proves to be a valuable resource in your journey towards becoming a formidable player in the game.
Upgrade Healing Potions
As you progress through the game, your character's level will increase and so will your potential for creating stronger and more efficient Healing Potions. You can boost the amount of Life restored by your Vial by investing Gold and Resources gathered from various sources, such as flower-picking and completing side-quests. The amount of Gold and Resources required to upgrade your Healing Vial scales up gradually as you reach higher levels, all the way up to Level 90

Craft Elixirs
Elixirs are powerful consumables that grant temporary buffs to your character, enhancing their capabilities for 30 minutes. Depending on the type of Elixir, you can gain increased resistance against specific damage types, boost your attack speed, and even gain an experience boost for the duration. Having a good supply of Elixirs in your inventory can greatly accelerate your leveling progress and give you an edge in challenging encounters. Remember that you can only have one Elixir active at a time and that they persist even after death.

Refine Resources is now Transmute
- The Refine Resources tab at the Alchemist has been renamed Transmute, and the option to craft an Uber Unique item can be found under that tab.
On Diablo 4's recent patch, The Alchemist services have been modified and now introduce the Transmute and the option to craft Uber Unique Items. This new service allows players to craft an Uber Unique item of their choice in exchange for 5 Resplendent Sparks to the Alchemist. Resplendent Sparks is a resource collected by salvaging unwanted Uber Unique Items.
This new system will empower players to make use of duplicate and undesired Uber Unique items by salvaging them for a new resource which can be used to eventually craft an Uber Unique of their choosing. Additionally, the chance for Uber Unique Items to drop everywhere but in Uber Duriel encounters has been increased.
A way to optimize your use of Resources in the game is by refining them. This process allows you to convert some Resources into others, giving you more flexibility and control over your Crafting options. Refining can be especially useful when the materials you need become scarce or when you need to craft items that require less rare Resources. For example, you can upgrade your Iron Chunks to better materials or downgrade more expensive Resources to Gallowvine. By refining your Resources, you can maximize your crafting potential and keep your character well-equipped for the challenges ahead.
The Alchemist also offers to refine your crafting materials into different ones of the same type. This lets you convert excess crafting materials if needed.
