Lightning DamageBall Lightning is a Sorceress Skill in Diablo 4. Ball Lightning allows Sorceress to release a ball of lightning that deals continuous damage to enemies for X damage.
Ball Lightning Diablo 4 Information
Ball Lightning belongs to the Sorceress class Skill Tree, and is part of the Mastery Cluster.
Active Skills can be ranked up to Rank 5. Players can also Enhance and then Upgrade the skill to add new features to its effects.
Active Skills are represented by big square icons in the Skill Tree menu.
Ball Lightning Effects in Diablo 4
Ball Lightning can be upgraded up to Rank 5, by spending more skill points. Upgrading Ball Lightning will further increase its benefits depending on its rank:
Rank 1:
- Damage

Rank 2:
- Damage X [20%]
Rank 3:
- Damage X [22%]

- Damage X [23%]

- Damage X [25%]
Diablo 4 Enhance & Upgrade for Ball Lightning
You can Enhance Ball Lightning to add the following effects:
- Enhanced Ball Lightning: Ball Lightning's damage rate is increased by your Attack Speed Bonus, up to 25%.
After enhancing Ball Lightning, you may also Upgrade it, to get the following effects depending on the upgrade you selected. You may only choose 1 of these:
- Mage's Ball Lightning: After hitting Close enemies 50 times with Ball Lightning, your next cast of it Stuns enemies hit for 1 second.
- Wizard's Ball Lightning: If an enemy is hit at least 4 times by a cast of Ball Lightning, a Crackling Energy is formed. Can only happen once per cast.
Enhancements and Upgrades are represented by diamond shaped icons in the Skill Tree menu
Diablo 4 Ball Lightning Enchantment Slot
When a Sorceress completes their Specialization and receives the Enchantment System, they can add Ball Lightning to one of the newly available slots. By doing so, they receive the following passive:
Rank 1:
- Lucky Hit: Critical strikes have a 25% chance to spaws a static Ball Lightning.
Rank 2:
- Lucky Hit: Critical strikes have a 25% chance to spaws a static Ball Lightning.
Rank 3:
- Lucky Hit: Critical strikes have a 25% chance to spaws a static Ball Lightning.
Rank 4:
- Lucky Hit: Critical strikes have a 25% chance to spaws a static Ball Lightning.
Rank 5:
- Lucky Hit: Critical strikes have a 25% chance to spaws a static Ball Lightning.
