Legendary Aspects OverviewBest Rogue Legendary Aspects Guide

How to get Diablo 4 Legendary Aspects

Players can get D4 Legendary Aspects through two paths:

Codex of Power

Codex of Power serves as a valuable repository of knowledge, providing a curated selection of Diablo 4 Aspects that can be imprinted onto your Equipment:

  • Baseline Selection: Within the Codex of Power, you will find a range of pre-determined Legendary Aspects, offering a solid starting point for enhancing your character. These Aspects bestow impactful effects that can give you a significant advantage in battle.
  • Dungeon Completion: To unlock the Legendary Aspects residing within the Codex of Power, you must prove your mettle by conquering specific Dungeons scattered throughout the realm of Sanctuary. By emerging victorious from these challenging trials, you earn the right to imprint the associated Aspects onto your items.
  • Limitations: It is important to note that the Codex of Power does not encompass the entirety of Legendary Aspects available in the game. Some truly unique and potent Aspects can only be obtained through alternative means.
  • Imprinting Limitations: When imprinting D4 Aspects from the Codex of Power onto your items, the resulting values will always be the lowest possible roll. This means that the power of the Diablo 4 Aspect will be reduced compared to its maximum potential. It is worth considering this limitation when strategizing and seeking additional legendary treasures to unlock their full potential.

Legendary Items

While the Codex of Power offers a convenient shortcut to acquiring Legendary Aspects, a more traditional path involves engaging in combat and vanquishing demons to obtain Legendary Items.

  • Demon Slaying: Engage in thrilling battles, navigate treacherous Dungeons, and face powerful foes to increase your chances of acquiring legendary loot. By repeatedly slaying demons, you create opportunities to obtain coveted Legendary Aspects.
  • Random DropsLegendary Aspects acquired through traditional means are often acquired as random drops from defeated Enemies. Embrace the element of chance and revel in the excitement of each victorious encounter.
  • Full PotentialLegendary Aspects obtained from Legendary items do not suffer from the limitations of imprinted values found in the Codex of Power. They possess their maximum potential, delivering the full force of their enhancing effects. These treasures are the embodiment of power waiting to be harnessed by worthy adventurers.

How to extract a Legendary Aspect in Diablo 4

If you come across a Legendary Aspect on gear that doesn't fit your build, don't despair! You can extract it at The Occultist for a significant Gold fee. Once extracted, the Aspect is stored in your Aspect Inventory tab, ready for use on a different piece of gear. You can even transfer the Aspect to your Stash if your Aspect Inventory is full. Extracted Aspects come with information about which item types they can be imprinted on and any bonuses they provide when imprinted on specific pieces. This is a great way to repurpose powerful Aspects that would otherwise go to waste on gear you don't use.

Can I equip an item with a Legendary Aspect that belongs to another class?

Yes, you can, but doing so, will render the Legendary Aspect unusable in that character since you can't receive the specifics bonuses.

For example, a Rogue can decide to imprint Aspect of Ancestral Force into a Bow, and can still equip it. However, the bonus of Aspect of Ancestral Force which makes Hammer of the Ancients quake outwards, dealing a percentage of its damage to enemies, will be useless, since Rogues don't have that Skill.

Rogue Aspect of Quickening Fog Legendary Aspect Guide

The Aspect of Quickening Fog is a great addition for whatever build you're planning to use. It helps with crowd control since you will always drop a Smoke Grenade every time you use the Dash ability to slash through opponents while you reposition yourself. All enemies hit with the bomb will be Dazed, leaving them vulnerable and unable to attack. Paired with the Rapid Gambits skill, your evade cooldown is reduced, and this can be especially helpful when you're in a tight situation. Getting swarmed by enemies can lead to your potential death if you don't have a way out, as Rogues are very squishy. The Shadow Step skill can also be utilized with this Aspect, while the Dash moves you forward while performing an attack, this one dashes you further to reposition yourself, and you will also become Unstoppable while this skill is active.

Rogue Rapid Aspect Legendary Aspect Guide

The Rapid Aspect increases your basic attack speed and with Puncture, this gives your combos charge up quickly and you can go back in forth with Barrage. Puncture would also slow down enemies on its third cast, then you can immediately switch to Barrage to ricochet and spread damage across groups of enemies in the area. Run it with the Dash to add maneuverability, this allows you to quickly dash and slash through enemies, you would want to add this skill to evade and reposition yourself. You can also add Shadow Step, this one moves you further than Dash and makes you Unstoppable while giving you increased movement speed for 2 seconds. The Rapid Aspect is great when you're just starting out and good for beginner builds, as it can be easily accessible.

Rogue Ravenous Aspect Legendary Aspect Guide

The Ravenous Aspect is a simple aspect that increases your energy regeneration rate every time you kill a Vulnerable enemy. Most of the best Builds you can create with the Rogue class are centered around making enemies vulnerable, so this aspect is extremely effective and you should consider using this aspect for your build. You can also use Trap Mastery if you have either Poison Trap or Death Trap equipped since this skill gives you 4% increased Critical Strike Chance against Vulnerable and Crowd Control enemies whenever your trap activates. And with this combined, your energy regeneration rate increases significantly. This aspect also allows you to continuously attack opponents without needing to back away because of its generous increase in your resource. You can also try using Victimize, as there's a 30% chance to cause an explosion when you deal direct damage to a Vulnerable enemy, leading to a domino effect to the surrounding enemies within range.

Rogue Bladedancer's Aspect Legendary Aspect Guide

The Bladedancer's Aspect is a must have aspect especially if you're running with the Twisting Blades. This is one of the best offensive aspects for the Rogue Class and synergizes well with the Twisting Blades core skill. This aspect can make the Twisting Blades spin around the Rogue for a short duration after returning and it also increases its return damage. You can also imbue your weapon that deals shadow damage using the Shadow of Imbuement and combine it with Shadow Clone to clear waves, or even entire rooms of enemies. Note that the Shadow Clone skill will not deal the exact same damage output you provide, but it can still be significantly useful especially if you're being overwhelmed by mobs of enemies.

Diablo 4 Rogue Builds

Marksman Rogue Build (Level 70+ Build)

The Marksman Endgame Build is an advanced version of the Freezing Rain and Cold Archer Rapid Fire Builds that continues to deal an insane amount of damage thanks to the Rapid Fire Ability.

Overview

So generally, what’s changed from the previous version of this Diablo IV Build is that even though I’m still using Cold, you’re free to use whichever element you want, whether it be Poison or Shadow. The focus here is really more on Critical Strike Damage and Vulnerable Damage as well as how to get a lot of damage out of Rapid Fire. And then your chosen element is the icing on the cake.

Every time you attack an enemy, you’re going to apply Vulnerable for 3 seconds. What’s great about this is you’ll be gaining access to the Improved Rapid Fire upgrade in order to gain 15 Energy back every time you hit a Vulnerable target. As such, you won’t need to use any Basic Skill on this D4 Build plus, you won’t encounter Energy management issues. You also don’t have to make use of any Equipment to further boost your Energy regeneration as a result. So you’re free to fire at will with Rapid Fire.

Another good way to amplify your Vulnerable Damage is by using a Crossbow because this damage type comes with it by default. If you’re using a Bow, like myself though, make sure to get this Stat on it. Additionally, you’ll also want to look for Critical Strike Damage, Core Skill Damage, and ideally, Dexterity. When it comes to your Melee Weapons, Swords are preferable over Daggers to give you that Critical Strike Damage multiplier, Damage to Distant Enemies, and more Dexterity. On your Jewelry, at least on your Rings, you can have Critical Strike Chance to help boost your damage together with Critical Strike Damage and Vulnerable Damage.

Should your Vulnerability be down if you didn’t kill enemies within the 3-second timeframe, you can hit Concealment. You’ll be swapping to the Countering Concealment upgrade as it gives you a guaranteed Critical Strike when you come out of Concealment. So if you can’t finish off an Elite in time, pop this Skill to not only grant more Energy but also to make you invisible for a couple of seconds. And then follow through with your Imbuement Skill to go to town and finish them off with 6 more seconds of Vulnerability. If they’re not yet dead, you can activate Rain of Arrows with Concealment to reactivate the cycle of applying Vulnerable on these stronger targets.

Perfected Shadowblade Rogue Build (Level 70+ Build)

The Perfected Shadowblade Endgame Build is an advanced version of the Shadowblade Midgame Rogue Build that continues to deal an insane amount of Shadow Damage.

Overview

This Diablo 4 Perfected Shadowblade Build continues our Lvl 50 Shadowblade Build and makes the necessary adjustments to efficiently clear Tier IV content. These changes include swapping out some passives and our basic Skill, as well as modifying a couple of Legendary Aspects.

Just like the original Shadowblade Diablo IV Build, the main focus is to use Twisting Blades in combination with Shadow Imbuement to create a chain reaction effect and explode big packs of enemies. This is very engaging and fun to play, as it motivates you to move around the battlefield and to constantly use different active skills depending on the type of situation you are facing.

The main difference you’ll notice in Tier IV difficulty is the increased amount of damage that enemies deal to you. Damage output is not an issue for this Perfected Shadowblade D4 Build, so we’ll be mainly focusing on making sure we are very tanky and that we can survive any attack and keep going, even when clearing content many levels above your own such as Nightmare Dungeons.

Freezing Rain Rogue Bow Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Freezing Raing Rogue  Midgame Build is a Build for Diablo 4 that revolves around the Rapid Fire skill and is a natural evolution of the Cold Archer Build

Overview

This Diablo 4 Build focuses on Rapid Fire and Freezing enemies in place.

There are a couple of reasons I was finally able to make a Rapid Fire build that I was happy with. The first one is its repeating aspect, which means Rapid Fire has up to a 90% chance to ricochet to another target when put on a two-handed weapon. This would ideally be on your bow as you want every chance to ricochet as possible. The drawback of using Rapid Fire is that it tends to hit in a straight line, very rarely getting any AOE. However, this is compensated by these ricochets, making it much more viable.

The other reason is the fact that you can use it without having any energy problems through the use of the Exploit Glyph. This Glyph’s additional bonus causes enemies damaged by you to become Vulnerable for three seconds – although it cannot happen more than once every 20 seconds. And since we don’t have a way to naturally apply the Vulnerable status, this becomes a great way to get additional Vulnerable Damage, making them go down really fast.

The way this solves our energy problem is through the Improved Rapid Fire upgrade, which makes it so that you gain 15 energy per cast of Rapid Fire when it damages a Vulnerable enemy while costing 20 energy. So you only net lose 5 energy when using this, which is usually more than enough to get you through most Boss Fights.

However, if for some reason this is not enough energy, we also have the Enhanced Concealment upgrade of Concealment, and the Aftermath passive maxed out. Enhanced Concealment gives you 40 energy when you enter Concealment, while Aftermath gives you 75 energy when you use your ultimate skill, something you use regularly with this build.

And that’s because we have the Preparation Specialization, which makes it so that for every hundred energy you spend, you reduce your ultimate skill cooldown by 4 seconds. So basically, every five rapid fires it’s going to shave 4 seconds off your Rain of Arrows skill. And since we have no need for a basic attack, we can just keep using Rapid Fire to attack every enemy we see, making this happen very regularly.

Cyclone Rogue Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Cyclone Midgame Build is the evolved version of the Poison Flurry Beginner Build that annihilates enemies efficiently using tons of Vulnerable Damage and Poison.

Overview

The general strategy for this Diablo IV Build is somewhat similar to the previous Poison Flurry Beginner Build. You'll usually want to group up enemies to save time from chasing after stragglers since you're melee-focused. You can either start with Shadow Step or trigger Poison Imbuement coupled with Poison Trap. Using these 3 Skills and thanks to the Methodical Shadow Step upgrade, you're able to Poison and Stun enemies, thereby helping you gain 3 stacks of the Momentum Key Passive fairly quickly.

Momentum is essential for this Cyclone Diablo 4 Rogue Build because the moment you get all 3 stacks up and running, you not only reduce the damage you take to improve survivability but you also increase Movement Speed and Energy Regeneration. Energy regeneration is essential in order for you to constantly make use of Flurry, which is one of your major Skills. In relation to this, the Legendary Aspect that you must obtain is the Aspect of Encircling Blades. Doing so changes the playstyle of Flurry such that you're not limited to attacking enemies in front of you, and instead, you also get to hit those around you. Since you apply Vulnerable due to Puncture and because of the Improved Flurry upgrade, you can kill them very quickly. Improved Flurry makes it so that when you attack a Vulnerable target, nearby enemies hit by the same cast will become Vulnerable as well so they also take additional damage.

A Unique Item that'll help make this D4 Rogue Build stronger is the Grasp of Shadow. This grants improved Attack Speed, more Vulnerable Damage, and added Ranks of Flurry. And on Lucky Hit, damaging a Vulnerable enemy with Flurry has a 20-30% chance to summon a Shadow Clone that mimics your attack. Given that the Cyclone Rogue moves extremely fast with a lot of hits upon Skill activation, you're able to take advantage of the clone to assist you in combat. The idea here is to ramp up your Attack Speed to be able to dish out a ton of Vulnerable Damage to obliterate targets efficiently.

Shadow Barrage Rogue Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Shadow Barrage Midgame Build is a burst and Damage Over Time Diablo 4 Rogue Build that makes full use of the Barrage Skill to obliterate multiple enemies very quickly.

Overview

The general strategy for this Diablo 4 Shadow Barrage Rogue Build works is by casting Barrage repeatedly to deal devastating damage. Barrage is an Imbueable Marksman Skill that allows you to shoot out 5 arrows that expand in a V pattern from you. You can hold this button down and it will literally empty your Energy pool to channel arrows over and over again. Now these arrows have a 20% chance to ricochet off of enemies one time, dealing a little less damage.

But when this D4 Rogue Build hits a Vulnerable target or critically strike an enemy it was guaranteed to ricochet off of, you're able to spread around status effects very easily since arrows bounce all over the screen. Barrage is even made better thanks to the Improved Barrage upgrade so for every 3rd cast, you're able to apply Vulnerable for 2 seconds. It tends to happen for everyone because of the ricochets.

With the Toxic Alchemist's Aspect, there will be a lot of AoE explosions going on, making it so that you have a way to deal with large groups of enemies effectively, which is something that the Marksman has trouble doing without using Penetrating Shot.

One great Helm for this Shadow Barrage Diablo 4 Rogue Build is the Cowl of the Nameless Sacred Unique Helm. This lets you gain up to a 25% increase in Lucky Hit Chance against Crowd Controlled Enemies. Furthermore, it helps facilitate Innervation as well as the other passives I will mention later on together with the Toxic Alchemist's Aspect. It also has a Dexterity Cooldown Reduction, which is great for both Imbuements as well as the Ultimate and Trap Skills. The Cowl of the Nameless even has Crowd Control Duration increased and Maximum Energy. This means that when you go into combat starting with Barrage, you're going to have a lot more resources to begin with before emptying it.

Trapper Rogue Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Trapper Midgame Build is a burst and Damage Over Time Diablo 4 Rogue Build that specializes in the use of Poison and Traps while CCing enemies to kill them quickly.

Overview

Before I begin, it's worth noting that the Frost part for this Diablo IV Endgame Build is optional so it would depend on the Equipment and Legendary Aspects you have. But I will show you how to use it while making suggestions if you don't have it at the moment.

So let's first talk about Flurry, which is an Imbuement Cutthroat Skill that rapidly hits in front of you 4x. This is also going to heal you for 1% of your Maximum Life the moment you attack crowd-controlled or Vulnerable enemies. Additionally, you'll take the Improved Flurry upgrade so that if you hit a Vulnerable target, any other enemies that Flurry hits will become Vulnerable as well. So right from the get-go, there's already a big focus on Vulnerability in this Trapper Diablo 4 Rogue Build. As such, you want to spread this status effect around to make them take more damage from you.

In relation to this, you're going to take advantage of the Vengeful Aspect. This constitutes a Lucky Hit so making a target Vulnerable has up to a 48% chance to increase your Critical Strike Chance for 3 seconds up to 9%. This percentage can go as high as 50% and you're going to get the improved crit chance from this very, very easily to help boost your damage. What's more, is that you'll want to equip the Grasp of Shadow Unique Gloves. This makes it so that Lucky Hit damaging a Vulnerable enemy with a Marksman or Cutthroat Skill has up to a 30% chance to summon a Shadow Clone that mimics your attack. As a result, you're going to get regular extra Flurries here, drastically enhancing your damage.

And finally, you have the Aspect of Encircling Blades that'll convert Flurry such that it no longer hits in front of you but hits all around you at a 360-degree angle while increasing the damage you deal. So this is extremely good for your D4 Rogue Build because that means you can attack everyone near you.

Twisting Blades Rogue Build (Beginner Build)

The Twisting Blades Rogue Beginner Build is a melee-based Diablo 4 Rogue Build that impales enemies with the Twisting Blades Skill to inflict massive AoE damage on top of making them explode quickly!

Overview

The way this Diablo 4 Twisting Blades Rogue Build works is by using Shadow Imbuement in combination with Twisting Blades to generate a chain reaction of explosions that decimates big groups of enemies. To achieve this, you'll start the fight by casting the Shadow Imbuement buff, then you'll head straight into a pack of enemies and perform two attacks with Twisting Blades (you can hit the same enemy or two different enemies).

Now, you'll use Dash to pass through the group and get on the exact opposite side and start attacking using your Invigorating Strike (this will build up Combo Points and increase your Energy regeneration). At this point, the first two attacks this Diablo IV Rogue Build has made with Twisting Blades will return to you, passing through the pack of enemies. This will deal damage to all of them and apply the Shadow Imbuement debuff, which will generate a chain reaction of explosions. Also, because of the Advanced Twisting Blades upgrade, both your Shadow Imbuement and Dash cooldowns will be reduced, and thanks to Consuming Shadows you'll get back the Energy you spent, allowing you to restart the sequence.

Once this Diablo 4 Rogue Build is on the opposite side, you can use Invigorating Strike to increase Energy regeneration and to build up 3 Combo Points, which will greatly increase the damage of your Twisting Blades, so even if you are not able to cast Shadow Imbuement right away, the daggers will deal even more damage on the second pass, allowing you to finish off any remaining enemies.

The Legendary Aspect that will help the most for this D4 Build is the Bladedancer's Aspect, making it so that the returning blades orbit around you in the end to deal extra damage, which is very useful to finish off the enemies or to deal with Elites. This new Orbit Damage is further amplified based on the enemies pierced by the boomerang effect. You can acquire the Codex of Power of this aspect by completing the Jalal's Vigil Dungeon, located at Scosglen.

I recommend using the Combo Points Specialization to fight regular enemies, as it'll increase the damage of your Twisting Blades, and also give you a speed buff, but you should swap to Inner Sight Specialization when fighting Bosses. Doing so will allow you to spam the Twisting Blades Skill when Inner Sight is active, dealing a ton amount of damage and generating a massive amount of orbiting blades that quickly ticks the Boss's HP down. Remember that you'll also invest points into the Shadow Clone Ultimate to be able to summon your shadow who will mimic this action, further increasing the burst damage.

Shadowblade Rogue Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Shadowblade Midgame Build is the evolved version of the Shadow Diablo 4 Rogue Build that gives you amazing clear speed and great mobility.

Overview

This Diablo 4 Shadowblade Rogue Build takes from where our Shadow Rogue Beginner Build left off and uses the additional Skill points to increase our Energy acquisition, increase our damage, and most importantly increase our survivability. We'll be swapping our Specialization, but none of the Active Skills will change, and we'll just focus on passives to further increase our efficiency and to achieve almost 100% uptime.

This Diablo IV Build still works the same way so you want to spam Twisting Blades against the first enemy you face until you run out of Energy, then reposition yourself behind or even in the middle of a group of enemies and wait for the blades to return to restore your Energy and repeat the sequence.

One of the biggest changes when compared with the previous D4 Rogue Beginner Build is that we'll swap our Specialization from Combo Points into Preparation. The Preparation Specialization reduces Shadow Clone's cooldown by 4 seconds for every 100 Energy you spend, so you'll be able to recover your Ultimate Skill very quickly by just spamming the Twisting Blades Also, thanks to the Aftermath passive, you'll now be able to almost completely restore your Energy as soon as you cast Shadow Clone, giving you many different options.

You can use the Ultimate Skill before a big pack of enemies, then go in and spam Twisting Blades as much as possible, and you'll often get it back before you engage in your next fight. You can also save Shadow Clone for fighting Elites and Bosses, as you'll run out of Energy and the Ultimate itself will allow you to restore it, thus resetting your combo from the start.

Another great change is that this Diablo 4 Endgame Rogue Build will now be able to freely use Shadow Step for repositioning, thanks to its upgrade and to the Ravager's Aspect.

Cold Archer Rogue Build (Beginner Build)

The Cold Archer Rogue Beginner Build is a purely ranged Diablo 4 Rogue Build that focuses on Chilling and Freezing as well as Poisoning enemies so that they cannot attack you, take damage over time, while also taking increased damage from your Barrage.

Overview

The general strategy with this Diablo 4 Cold Argue Rogue Build is to power up your Barrage using the Puncture Skill, and using the Combo Points Specialization. Barrage will fire extra arrows, which deal more damage for each Combo Point saved up, to a maximum of 3, and Puncture attacks rapidly, allowing you to do this very quickly. More arrows equal more Chilled, Freezing, and Poison to go around!

Barrage is an excellent Marksman Skill because it deals great damage at point-blank range as its arrows all tend to end up in the target in front of you, but also has modest AoE damage since its arrows spread out a bit more than Rapid Fire if nothing is near you. Arrows fired also ricochet around, spreading damage and status effects between more targets, which is great when it's Imbued.

Using Cold Imbuement will make this Diablo 4 Build's next two Barrage attacks deal, as well as apply Chilled and eventually Frozen to enemies. Each time you Chill an enemy, you Chill them for a certain percentage amount, and when that amount hits 100% they Freeze and can no longer move until the Freeze status wears off. The more Chill percentage you can apply, the faster enemies will Freeze.

This Diablo IV Rogue Build deals 15% increased damage to Chilled enemies from a maxed-out FFrigid Finesse passive Skill, and 30% increased damage if they are Frozen. So Chilling and Freezing them doesn't just provide Crowd Control, but it also provides you with a means to dispatch enemies more quickly, which is why it's imperative to do so as soon as possible.

I have also added Poison Imbuement to this D4 Rogue Build since Imbuement Skills have longer cooldowns than they had in Beta, and this allows you to spread around even more damage. Poison Imbuement deals damage over time, but it can also help to reduce the damage you take, as well boost your Attack Speed through the Debilitating Toxins and Alchemical Advantage passives. Poisons stack on enemies, so unloading with a Poison Imbued Barrage into an Elite or Boss point blank will stack a lot of Poison up on them!

Flurry Rogue Build (Beginner Build)

The Flurry Beginner Build is a purely melee-based Diablo 4 Rogue Build that deals huge burst damage while dabbling in Poison to get rid of enemies quickly!

Overview

The general strategy with this Diablo 4 Poison Flurry Rogue Build is to first group up enemies and then throw in Caltrops to not only deal some damage but also to Slow them down. You'll then charge forward with Shadow Step followed by a barrage of Puncture to apply Vulnerable. The great thing about this Basic Skill is it synergizes well with the Rogue's Specialization, which involves accumulating 3 Combo Points to considerably improve the damage dealt by Flurry. And because there's a wait time before using it, you won't be Energy-starved.

Activating these Skills works wonders against regular enemies. But remember to trigger Poison Imbuement with Poison Trap first before activating Flurry. Doing so will allow you to deal damage over time (DoT) on top of the huge burst damage you inflict with your Core Skill. Imbuing your Dual Wielded Weapon also lets you imbue Shadow Step with Poison, making it a nice touch the moment you attack an unaffected enemy from behind.

When fighting against Elites and Bosses, you won't be activating any Ultimate Skill, instead, you'll be relying on the Aspect of the Protector as early as now to be able to safely go near them. As such, this D4 Rogue Build can easily inflict Poison and then attack them with Flurry.
