How to get Diablo 4 Legendary Aspects

Players can get D4 Legendary Aspects through two paths:

Codex of Power

Codex of Power serves as a valuable repository of knowledge, providing a curated selection of Diablo 4 Aspects that can be imprinted onto your Equipment:

  • Baseline Selection: Within the Codex of Power, you will find a range of pre-determined Legendary Aspects, offering a solid starting point for enhancing your character. These Aspects bestow impactful effects that can give you a significant advantage in battle.
  • Dungeon Completion: To unlock the Legendary Aspects residing within the Codex of Power, you must prove your mettle by conquering specific Dungeons scattered throughout the realm of Sanctuary. By emerging victorious from these challenging trials, you earn the right to imprint the associated Aspects onto your items.
  • Limitations: It is important to note that the Codex of Power does not encompass the entirety of Legendary Aspects available in the game. Some truly unique and potent Aspects can only be obtained through alternative means.
  • Imprinting Limitations: When imprinting D4 Aspects from the Codex of Power onto your items, the resulting values will always be the lowest possible roll. This means that the power of the Diablo 4 Aspect will be reduced compared to its maximum potential. It is worth considering this limitation when strategizing and seeking additional legendary treasures to unlock their full potential.

Legendary Items

While the Codex of Power offers a convenient shortcut to acquiring Legendary Aspects, a more traditional path involves engaging in combat and vanquishing demons to obtain Legendary Items.

  • Demon Slaying: Engage in thrilling battles, navigate treacherous Dungeons, and face powerful foes to increase your chances of acquiring legendary loot. By repeatedly slaying demons, you create opportunities to obtain coveted Legendary Aspects.
  • Random DropsLegendary Aspects acquired through traditional means are often acquired as random drops from defeated Enemies. Embrace the element of chance and revel in the excitement of each victorious encounter.
  • Full PotentialLegendary Aspects obtained from Legendary items do not suffer from the limitations of imprinted values found in the Codex of Power. They possess their maximum potential, delivering the full force of their enhancing effects. These treasures are the embodiment of power waiting to be harnessed by worthy adventurers.

How to extract a Legendary Aspect in Diablo 4

If you come across a Legendary Aspect on gear that doesn't fit your build, don't despair! You can extract it at The Occultist for a significant Gold fee. Once extracted, the Aspect is stored in your Aspect Inventory tab, ready for use on a different piece of gear. You can even transfer the Aspect to your Stash if your Aspect Inventory is full. Extracted Aspects come with information about which item types they can be imprinted on and any bonuses they provide when imprinted on specific pieces. This is a great way to repurpose powerful Aspects that would otherwise go to waste on gear you don't use.

Can I equip an item with a Legendary Aspect that belongs to another class?

Yes, you can, but doing so, will render the Legendary Aspect unusable in that character, since you can't receive the specifics bonuses.

For example, a Rogue can decide to imprint Aspect of Ancestral Force into a Bow, and can still equip it. However, the bonus of Aspect of Ancestral Force which makes Hammer of the Ancients quakes outwards, dealing a percentage of its damage to enemies, will be useless, since Rogues don't have that Skill.

Necromancer Blood Getter's/Viscous Aspect Legendary Aspect Guide

The Blood Getter's Aspect and Viscous Aspect perform similar roles in a build, increasing a Necromancer's minion count by two. The only difference between the two aspects are the types of minions they add - while the Blood Getter's Aspect increases the number of Skeletal Warriors in a skeleton army, the Viscous Aspect increases number of Skeletal Mages. Whether or not you're running a minion-focused build, these two aspects are great general-use aspects as having more minions brings good utility to a build.

You won't be able to fit both aspects in all builds and will have to choose between the two. In general, the Blood Getter's Aspect is the better choice, with Skeletal Warriors being better meatshields tanks and providing more reliable damage. With a Corpse Explosion build in particular, having more Reapers in your skeletal army gives you a higher chance to form corpses from enemies, giving you more opportunities to blow them up. There are, however, some niche situations in which you may prefer the Viscous Aspect. In essence-heavy builds, such as a Blood Surge build, more Cold Skeletal Mages may be preferred in order to generate essence quicker. When running the Coldbringer's Aspect, more Skeletal Mages may also be preferred in order to proc Chill more often.

Necromancer Aspect of the Embalmer Legendary Aspect Guide

The Aspect of the Embalmer is a great defensive aspect that can fit many builds. It gives you a 20-30% chance of spawning a Blood Orb on the ground after consuming a corpse. While it isn't outrightly explained how to proc it, consuming a corpse basically means when a corpse is used up in any way, i.e. through the Skill Raise Skeleton when summoning a skeleton from a corpse, or through Corpse Explosion when detonating a corpse.

With the Necromancer Class being a class of low mobility, their survivability depends less on being able to avoid attacks and more on being able to take hits and mitigate damage. Blood Orbs are a great way of keeping a Necromancer alive, healing them for 15% of their Maximum Life when picked up. If you spec into certain Stats, Skills, or other Aspects, these Blood Orbs can grant you even more utility than simply healing.

The two synergies that are worth mentioning are Damage from Blood Orb and Fastblood Aspect. Damage from Blood Orb is an Offensive Stat exclusive to Necromancers. As its name implies, this stat grants the player increased damage for a short while after picking up a Blood Orb, allowing Blood Orbs to not only be a defensive tool, but also offensive. The Fastblood Aspect works well in a build that has an ultimate ability. This aspect reduces the player's Ultimate cooldown by up to one second per Blood Orb picked up. Coupled with a good source of Blood Orbs, this aspect will allow you to use your Ultimate ability often despite usually having long cooldowns.

Necromancer Blighted Aspect Legendary Aspect Guide

When equipped, the Blighted Aspect increases the player's damage by 50-120% for 6 seconds after inflicting the Shadowblight status effect on enemies ten times. The Shadowblight status effect can be applied on enemies when using any skill that inflicts Shadow Damage while you have the Shadowblight Passive Skill equipped. As such, this Legendary Aspect is well suited for Darkness builds to be able to reliably keep the aspect's effect up.

The Blighted Aspect is a great offensive addition to your build, providing up to 120% damage increase on a good roll. This is on top of the bonus damage already dealt against enemies affected by the Shadowblight status effect. The damage boost may start off slow, but you'll see a significant ramp up of damage as the fight goes on longer. Another great thing about this aspect is that acquiring it is not RNG-dependent and you can obtain it from completing Akkhan's Grasp.

As the effect of the Blighted Aspect procs depending on how many times enemies are hit, to be able to maintain the buff for a longer period of time, you'll want to slot in Skills that do multiple instances of Shadow Damage over time rather than one big burst of damage. Examples of these Skills are Decompose and Blight. Another good source of Shadowblight is Bone Storm. While Bone Storm normally deals Physical Damage, with the Aspect of Ultimate Shadow equipped, its damage type is changed into Shadow Damage. Not only will its big AOE be able to constantly inflict Shadowblight on multiple enemies, but the skill also provides defensive utility, decreasing the damage you and your minions take while inside the area.

Necromancer Blood-bathed Aspect Legendary Aspect Guide

The Blood-bathed Aspect works well in Blood builds featuring the Skill Blood Surge. When Blood Surge is used, you siphon life from an enemy with the first hit, after which you will create an explosion around you, dealing increased damage for each enemy siphoned from. With the Blood-bathed Aspect equipped, you will perform a second explosion after the first two hits of the skill, albeit with slightly lower damage.

This may sound a little underwhelming, but in Blood builds where Blood Surge is your main source of damage and lifesteal, you'll definitely want to think about slotting in the Blood-bathed Aspect. The first reason being that it's free extra damage, increasing your damage output. In addition, acquiring this aspect is not RNG-dependent; you can get this Legendary Aspect by completing Hoarfrost Demise.

You'll really start to see the aspect shine, however, when Blood Surge is upgraded to Paranormal Blood Surge. With this version of Blood Surge, you gain stacks of Overwhelming Blood every time an enemy is damaged with the explosive nova while you are Healthy, i.e. at 80% health or above. After you gain 5 stacks of Overwhelming Blood, your next cast of Blood Surge Overpowers, i.e. deals increased damage based on your current Life and Fortified Life. You shouldn't have much issue being Healthy with the lifesteal on this skill, allowing you to gain stacks of Overwhelming Blood with almost every cast of Blood Surge. With the second nova explosion added from the Blood-bathed Aspect, you'll be stacking Overwhelming Blood twice as fast, and Overpowering your Blood Surges twice as often as well. Pair this with the passive Tides of Blood, and you'll be a lifestealing powerhouse.

There are also Blood builds that feature Blood Lance as a core Skill instead. For those builds check out the Blood Seeker's Aspect and the Aspect of Rathma's Chosen.

Necromancer Cadaverous Aspect Legendary Aspect Guide

The Skill Corpse Explosion remains a powerful skill. However, with the nerf to the Aspect of Explosive Mist, it can't be used as the sole damage dealer in a build anymore and is usually paired with another strong damage-dealing skill. This is where the Cadaverous Aspect comes in. When equipped, consuming a corpse increases the damage of your next Core Skill by 5-10%, and this damage buff can stack up to 25-50%. There are only a few ways to consume corpses in Diablo 4, and Corpse Explosion is one of (if not) the quickest ways to do so, making it a great way to proc the effect of this aspect.

The most common Core Skill you'll see used in builds featuring Corpse Explosion is Bone Spear. Bone Spear on it's own deals good damage, especially when paired with passives such as Imperfectly Balanced. However, you'll see the true synergy between the two skills when both are upgraded. Upgrade Bone Spear to Supernatural Bone Spear to allow the skill to inflict Vulnerable on hit, making Corpse Explosion deal more damage to enemies afterwards. When Corpse Explosion is upgraded to Plagued Corpse Explosion, the skill deals extra damage against Vulnerable enemies, dealing even more explosive damage to enemies when paired with the Vulnerable status effect from Bone Spear.

Necromancer Aspect of Serration Legendary Aspect Guide

The Aspect of Serration is well-suited to builds featuring Bone Skills, as it buffs the Passive Skill Ossified Essence. When slotted in, Ossified Essence increases the damage of all Bone Skills per Essence point you have above 50. With the Aspect of Serration, this Passive Skill also increases the Critical Damage of all Bone Skills per Essence above 50, making it a great offensive Aspect.

The Serrated Aspect is a good Legendary Aspect to consider slotting in as you'll find many Bone Skill-related upgrades and passives increase or interact with Critical Hits. As such, Bone builds tend to favor Crit-based bonuses. There are a few skills to take special note of when making a Crit-based Bone Build. First, Serration increases the Critical Chance of all Bone Skills for each 10 Essence you have when casting the skill. Bone Splinters is also one you should heavily consider. As many Bone Skills also have increased damage/special effects when at certain Essence levels, you'll want a reliable Essence builder like Bone Splinters slotted into your build. What's great is that Bone Splinters can also make use of the various Critical Hit bonuses that impact the other Bone Skills in the build.

Diablo 4 Necromancer Builds

Grim Reaper Necromancer Build (Level 70+ Build)

The Grim Reaper Necromancer Endgame Build is a burst and DoT Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that focuses on destroying enemies with Shadow Damage and Critical Strike Damage. This is an evolution of the Reaper Build from World Tier 3.

Overview

So the general strategy with this Diablo IV Build is to continue to use the Blighted Corpse Explosion upgrade to put Shadow Damage Over Time (DoT) on enemies. This will then be stacked to trigger the Shadowblight Key Passive to deal a ton of damage that will hit like a truck. For your Core Skill, you’ll make use of Sever to deal damage to a target as well as the others who get caught in the path of your Scythe as you throw it out. And for every 4th cast, this applies Vulnerable on them.

There are a few reasons why Sever is the better Core Skill over Blight. Blight does Shadow Damage and Shadow DoT, and you can even get the Aspect of the Void to pull enemies in. However, there are some things that Sever does for you that Blight doesn’t. First, you get burst damage. Blight is pretty much DoT or alternating with Corpse Explosion. And when you’re talking about clear speed, you want things to die quickly so getting burst in there is really nice. Second, it has an exceptional range and attacks faster. As such, you can clip through multiple targets, especially those who are buffing the other enemies to make them damage resistant. What’s more, is the Vulnerable Damage that Sever does. Ideally, you would have this Stat on both of your Rings and Weapon if you’re not using Black River for this D4 Necro Build to make the most of the applied Vulnerability. And at some point, you’ll be using the Exploit Glyph to further boost your Vulnerable Damage

The general strategy for most fights is to walk in and use Reap, particularly taking advantage of the Acolyte’s Reap modifier, in order to drop a Corpse. And then this Necromancer Diablo 4 Build will hit Corpse Tendrils to pull enemies, Stun them, and apply the Vulnerable effect. When they’re all grouped up, you’re going to attack them with Sever until they start dying. Once Corpses are on the ground, you’ll use Corpse Explosion to put more DoTs on those who are still alive while reapplying Vulnerable while they’re standing in those AoE puddles.

Finally, I’m using Blood Mist for this Diablo 4 Solo Necromancer Build. Not only does it give you a way to get out of bad situations by making the Grim Reaper Immune, but you can also use it to kite enemies.

White Walker Necromancer Build (Level 70+ Build)

The White Walker Necromancer Endgame Build is a burst AoE and CC Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that focuses on using Minions and the Frost element to in order to not only boost your damage but also Freeze enemies.

Overview

A lot of people have been asking me to make an endgame Minion Build that can keep Minions alive where they can actually do something in combat. So my primary objective with this Diablo IV Build is to incorporate them but it’s worth noting that they don’t deal a ton of damage in this game even after acquiring all of the summon nodes. However, these Minions are able to provide Corpses and Freeze enemies, making it easier for you to kill them while providing decent Essence. What’s more, is that they act as meat shields, and once you get the Ring of Mendeln Unique Ring, they’ll be able to deal a lot more damage upon exploding on enemies, making them viable than before.

So the first thing to consider with this Diablo 4 White Walker Necromancer Build is how you get your Minions to survive. It took a while to balance survivability with damage but you can tweak this around a little as you see fit depending on the Equipment you have. So in terms of the Paragon Boards, which I’ll discuss in detail later on, I’ve taken the Cult Leader to focus on boosting Minion Damage and protection.

This Diablo 4 Build has Maximum Minion Life on a lot of gear to give them Health to avoid dying quickly. There’s still the maxed-out Bonded in Essence, which makes it so that your Skeletal Priest heals for 60% more of your Maximum Minion Life. You’ll also notice that there’s no more Death’s Defense, and that’s simply because your summons usually doesn’t take up to 30% of the Health in one hit anymore. As such, I’ve opted to put my points into Inspiring Leader, which makes it so that after you’ve been Healthy for 4 seconds, your Minions gain 12% Attack Speed. Attack Speed is beneficial because when Cold Mages deal damage, they give back Essence on top of Chilling and Freezing enemies. So the faster they attack, the more often that’s going to happen. In effect, there will be more opportunities to create Corpses to activate Corpse Explosion or to heal your Minions.

Bloodshadow Necromancer Build (Level 70+ Build)

The Bloodshadow Necromancer Endgame Build is a burst AoE Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that is a continuation of the previous Vampire Build. Here, you still focus on using Overpower with the Blood Surge Ability to deal massive damage while remaining incredibly tanky.

Overview

So this Diablo IV Build still has a huge focus on Overpowering, and there are 2 ways we get Overpower. The first is from casting Blood Surge a 6th time, and the second is for every 15 seconds you remain Healthy thanks to the Rathma’s Vigor Key Passive. Your next blood attack can either be Blood Surge or Blood Mist depending on what’s happening on the screen. Don’t count out Blood Mist because this actually hits like a truck when you Overpower with it, allowing you to move through enemies and wipe out entire packs without having to use Blood Surge even once.

The general way this Bloodshadow Necromancer Diablo 4 Build works is that you’re going to activate Blood Mist into a group of enemies, and if you’re Overpowering, it’s going to hit them like a truck. If they’re weak, they’ll probably all die, or at least almost all of them. Blood Surge can then clean them up. But if it’s a strong pack, this going to drop Corpses on the ground that will explode and deal Shadow Damage as it’s left on the floor. And you’ll also deal damage as you move through them.

Doing so should get you into the center of a pack where you want to be, and then you’re going to trigger Corpse Tendrils. Since there will be Corpses on the ground, Corpse Tendrils will grab targets, pull them together, apply the Vulnerable effect, and Stun them, which is perfect for you. And then you’ll spam Blood Surge to decimate these enemies before they can even come out of being Stunned.

One of the great things about this D4 Bloodshadow Necromancer Build is it has incredible survivability because you’re going to heal yourself and apply overhealing, which provides you with Fortify. You’ll also constantly conjure Barriers, letting you go into these big crowds of enemies and survive where other Diablo IV Builds can’t. And remember that every time you Overpower, Blood Mist’s cooldown will get reduced. You’ll go in with Blood Mist, attack with Corpse Tendrils, and spam Blood Surge before moving out. If they’re not yet dead, repeat this cycle over and over until you clean up everything on the battlefield.

Blood Lancer Necromancer Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Blood Lancer Necromancer Midgame Build is burst Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that focuses on using Overpower and the Blood Lance Ability to deal devastating damage!

Overview

This Diablo IV Build is different from the rest in that it uses Blood Lance, which lets you fling a lance in a straight line that sticks into an enemy to deal damage. And for 3 seconds, when you hit another target with this, the previous one you've attacked will continue to receive damage so you want to spread your blood lances around if possible. When you've gained access to Enhanced Blood Lance, it'll also pierce through the enemy that's been lanced or any enemy that's already been lanced, dealing 15% reduced damage. If you can line them up and fling blood lances through the original target, you'll easily stack damage on them at the same time.

Another upgrade you'd like to take is the Supernatural Blood Lance, which makes it so that every 8x you cast it, you have a guaranteed Overpower as well as a Blood Orb spawned from the first enemy hit. This is a lot of huge damage if you can get your Overpower Damage high in the first place. The biggest issue though is you only have 3 seconds from the time you attack them to hit as many other targets as you can. This means that you want a fast Attack Speed in order to be able to use numerous lances at the same time to spread them around efficiently. So if groups are spread out all over the screen, it's going to be a challenge to use Blood Lance as compared to if they're all bunched up together.

To improve this Blood Lancer Diablo 4 Necromancer Build, you'll need the Aspect of Hungry Blood. When Blood Lance hits an already affected enemy, it has up to a 20% chance to fire a second lance at a nearby target, and this is 30% on an Amulet or up to 40% on a Two-Handed Weapon. The Aspect of Hungry Blood is a great way to increase the number of blood lances to really enhance your damage. Because remember that for each enemy you stick with Blood Lance, all the others that have already been subjected to the same fate will take damage.

Reaper Necromancer Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Reaper Necromancer Midgame Build plays without any Minions and uses Shadow Damage to destroy enemies effectively. Here, you'll execute strategic moves all on your own like the Vampire Necromancer!

Overview

The way this Diablo IV Endgame Build works is you'll first run into a pack of enemies and use Reap, and because of the Acolyte's Reap upgrade, casting the Skill will automatically drop Corpses. This happens once every 5 seconds. Afterward, we're going to activate Corpse Tendrils in order to grab all nearby enemies. Doing so will round them up and place them on top of these Corpses. What you'll then do is to simultaneously press Corpse Explosion to set your first Shadow AoE and then you're going to start attacking with the Sever Skill.

I like to use Sever here until I'm out of Essence or after applying the Vulnerability effect on all enemies, which happens on the 4th attack. And then I'll continue to press Corpse Explosion to detonate Corpses to finish off those who have survived my first wave of attacks.

One really great addition to this Reaper Diablo 4 Necromancer Build is the Howl from Below Sacred Unique Gloves for your Corpse Explosion to deal more damage. So you're able to cast this Skill faster and it makes Skeletons run out toward enemies to then explode into pools of Shadow Damage. Additionally, this will make them hit targets far away.

If there are a couple of stragglers that didn't get grouped up for Corpse Explosion, the Skeletons from the Gloves will seek those out as well as hit and kill them for you. As such, you don't have to try and run up to them and drop more Corpses. Instead, you can make better use of the Corpses that are already on the battlefield.

Spirit Bomber Necromancer Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Spirit Bomber Midgame Build is a hybrid DPS Build that deals devastating burst and AoE damage with Bone Spirit and Bone Storm.

Overview

Blood Burst Necromancer Build (Beginner Build)

The Blood Burst Necromancer Beginner Build is another burst DPS Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that focuses on stealing the HP of enemies in addition to making them explode left and right with Blood Skills.

Overview

The general strategy for this Diablo 4 Blood Burst Necromancer Build is to start off by attacking enemies with Bone Spear and then alternating with Blood Surge. This may seem counterintuitive, especially since both of these are Core Skills that make use of Essence. However, this is the best combination when it comes to dealing massive single-target and AoE burst damage.

With Blood Surge, this Diablo IV Build will be able to deal huge explosive damage and drain the target's blood to increase your Health. Doing so will consistently keep you alive in combat regardless of the type of target you face. Next, you'll be activating Hemorrhage to reduce the damage you take. But more importantly, it'll let you generate a decent amount of Essence and form Blood Orbs to restore HP.

For Elites and Bosses, this Blood Burst D4 Necromancer Build will be triggering Blood Wave to deal some decent burst damage while relying on Skeletons. Again, you're not going to take the standard route where the Golem taunts enemies on your behalf. Instead, these Skeletons will generate enough Essence and help deal considerable damage.

Vampire Necromancer Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Vampire Necromancer Midgame Build is the evolved version of the Blood Burst Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that maintains a high level of HP by sucking the life of its enemies and utilizes Blood Skills to deal massive Overpower Damage in quick succession!

Overview

The way this Diablo 4 Vampire Necromancer Build works is you're going make use of Overpower Damage from two major sources – you still have Blood Surge and now, Rathma's Vigor. What Blood Surge continues to do is obliterate everything on the screen due to the Paranormal Blood Surge upgrade. The idea is to keep using this Core Skill to stack 5 Overwhelming Blood. On the 6th Blood Surge, this D4 Necromancer Endgame Build will end up dealing considerable Overpower Damage. So you'll be able to kill every enemy quickly. Meanwhile, Rathma's Vigor also triggers Overpower as long as you remain Healthy, a staple of this Vampire Diablo IV Build.

When you reach Level 50, you'll notice that applying the same set of Skills from the Blood Burst Build will no longer be possible since you'll remain too Essence-starved, most of the time. To remedy this problem, you need to let go of Bone Spear and substitute it for Corpse Explosion and Bone Prison. In fact, both of them will let this Diablo IV Necro Build generate Essence and deal greater damage to enemies due to the applied Vulnerable effect.

For Elites and Bosses, you're going to trigger Bone Prison with the Bone Storm Ultimate Skill. Bone Storm lets you conjure a huge storm of bones to deal Damage over Time while reducing the damage you take and improving your Critical Strike Chance.

Blightmaster Necromancer Build (Beginner Build)

The Blightmaster Necromancer Beginner Build is a Damage Over Time and Summoner Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that focuses on attacking multiple enemies with Blight while your deadly Minions swarm them down.

Overview

The general strategy for this Diablo 4 Blightmaster Necromancer Build is to start by deploying Blight into a pack of enemies. Doing so will deal massive Damage Over Time (DoT) in a decent-sized AoE puddle. This major Skill will also Slow them down and further boost your and your Minions' overall damage by 15%. Since Blight requires Essence, you're going to want to drain this resource and then switch over to using Corpse Explosion. By this time, the Diablo IV Necromancer Build will have enough Corpses on the ground to detonate them into more AoE DoT puddles.

Going back to restoring Essence, you'll be casting Decompose all throughout. It also amplifies this D4 Build's damage, making it another decent way to destroy multiple enemies on the floor as they're getting demolished by Blight and Corpse Explosion. A great aspect that goes well with this Skill is the Flesh-Rending Aspect. When you spawn a Corpse with Decompose, you gain additional Essence, which will then factor into using Blight more frequently.

For Elites and Bosses, you'll bombard them with your powerful Skeleton Warriors, Skeleton Mages, and Golem. With passives that improve the damage and Life of Skeleton Warriors and the Golem's inherent tankiness, you're certain to destroy strong opponents in a matter of seconds. Of course, this works well on top of consistently casting Blight, Decompose, and Corpse Explosion for the Diablo 4 Necromancer Build.

Blightlord Necromancer Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Blightlord Necromancer Midgame Build is the evolved version of the Blightmaster Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that specializes in dealing and stacking massive Shadow Damage over Time (DoT) while commanding an army of powerful Minions.

Overview

The way this Diablo 4 Blightlord Necromancer Build works is going to be different from the previous iteration, the Blightmaster Necromancer D4 Necro Build in terms of the Skills you'll use. The strategy here can be divided into two parts - how to keep your summons alive and how to deal as much Shadow Damage as possible.

Here, you'll be maximizing several passives such as Bonded in Essence and Death's Defense while triggering Raise Skeleton often to make sure that your Minions remain resilient in combat. On the other hand, this Diablo IV Endgame Build will continue to build a ton of Shadow Damage while dealing Shadow DoT, just like before, with Corpse Explosion. But instead of using Blight as your main Skill, you'll be depending on Iron Maiden, Decrepify, and Bone Storm. However, you can get back Blight to replace Iron Maiden if you want, especially if you don't own the Aspect of the Damned.

Even against Elites and Bosses, the idea is to stack Shadow passives that further amplify this Blightlord Diablo IV Necro Build's damage and make your Minions dominate the battlefield to make sure that enemies are taking Shadow Damage.

Detonator Necromancer Build (Beginner Build)

The Detonator Necromancer Beginner Build is a burst DPS Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that wipes out multiple enemies by detonating them with Corpse Explosion in a matter of seconds!

Overview

The general strategy for this Diablo 4 Detonator Necromancer Build is to first kill enemies from any distance using Bone Spear and then follow through by detonating their Corpses with Corpse Explosion. Alternating back and forth between these two Skills will wipe them out quickly. Despite the damage nerf for Corpse Explosion, it continues to be lethal and therefore, highly reliable, regardless of the type of enemy you face. It's for this reason, that you'll continue to trigger this Skill often to deal devastating damage.

There are two ways to consistently gain Essence for this Diablo IV Necromancer Build, specifically through Decompose and the Grim Harvest passive. Decompose replenishes Essence when affected enemies die. What you'll also want to obtain in relation to this Skill is the Flesh-Rending Aspect. Every time you generate a Corpse with Decompose, you end up gaining extra Essence, allowing you to activate Bone Spear more often. On the other hand, Grim Harvest allows you to gain 9 Essence at Rank 3 every time you activate Corpse Explosion. So you can replenish this resource and then fire off more Bone Spears without having to use other Skills.

For Elites and Bosses, the best way to handle them in addition to spamming Bone Spear and Corpse Explosion is by summoning this D4 Build's Minions, particularly the Golem. The Golem not only taunts enemies and tanks damage but also spawns a Corpse when its HP goes down. So you'll still be able to continue using Corpse Explosion even if you don't initially have as many Corpses.

Defiler Necromancer Build (Level 50-70 Build)

The Defiler Necromancer Midgame Build is the evolved version of the Corpse Explosion Diablo 4 Necromancer Build that focuses on dealing high damage and landing one crit after the next. Here, you heavily make use of Corpses and bones to obliterate enemies efficiently!

Overview

The way this Diablo 4 Defiler Necromancer Build works is you're going to initiate combat using Bone Spear, especially against Elites. Doing so will make them Vulnerable right from the very start so it'll be easier to slaughter them. Next, you'll be blasting Corpses with Corpse Explosion to deal insane damage. Alternating between Bone Spear and Corpse Explosion will still make you destroy enemies quickly even in World Tier 3.

Not only will you restore Essence regularly upon detonating Corpses, but you'll also be able to heal your Minions with the Raise Skeleton Skill. The cycle will then be repeated where this Diablo IV Necromancer Endgame Build will consume Corpses to maintain high resources at all times, followed by hitting hard due to the Critical Strike Damage you deal. Furthermore, because of the Ossified Essence Key Passive, you gain 1% bonus damage when using your Bone Skills for every Essence you have above 50, making you lethal on the battlefield. Because of your 180+ Essence, the increased damage you inflict will be more than 100%!

For Elites and Bosses, this Diablo 4 Necro Build will also be making use of Bone Storm for the amplified Damage over Time you and your Golem deal, together with the improved Critical Strike Chance.
