Dead in the Water is a Side Quest in Diablo 4. Dead in the Water can be found at Forsaken Coast, Hawezar. A distressed resident from Backwater shares a poignant tale that provides a glimpse into the challenging realities of their daily existence. Side Quests are optional missions that players can complete in order to obtain different rewards. Players are usually rewarded XP, and Gold depending on your level. Completing Side Quests in a specific region will also add to the Region Renown. Side Quests can be acquired by encountering various events or interacting with different NPCs.

Dead in the Water Walkthrough

Tomaj seeks your assistance in burning fresh corpses. Accompany him to the south of Backwater and locate three fresh corpses to set ablaze. The first corpse can be found in the northeastern part of the marked area on the map, the second corpse in the center, and the third corpse in the southern part. Additionally, collect Salvaged Resources by defeating Drowned monsters in the area, gathering a total of ten. Engage and eliminate the Drowned surrounding a stranded survivor in the southern part of the quest zone. Afterward, speak with the stranded survivor named Ervin. Both Tomaj and Ervin will then follow you. Return to the eastern part of Backwater, where you can converse with Tomaj and Szilvia, who is located nearby. This marks the completion of the quest.
