Remnants is a Side Quest in Diablo 4. Remnants can be found in the Prison of Caldeum, a Dungeon found in the Residential District of Caldeum in Kehjistan. Side Quests are optional missions that players can complete in order to obtain different rewards. Players are usually rewarded XP, and Gold depending on your level. Completing Side Quests in a specific region will also add to the Region Renown. Side Quests can be acquired by encountering various events or interacting with different NPCs.
The old letter found on the tortured corpse said there was to be a rendezvous by the Caldeum bazaar. I should go see if this Hader is still waiting.

Remnants Walkthrough
The Quest begins when you pick up the Crumpled Note from random loot dropped by Tortured Prisoners in the Dungeon Prison of Caldeum, in the western area of Caldeum. You can find the Dungeon on our Interactive Map here: [Diablo 4 Map Link]. After you pick it up, you can either clear it or head out immediately. Either way, exit the way you came in.
- Search for Hader in Caldeum
The objective location will be just north of the Dungeon's entrance, in the Residential District. You'll find a person who seems like they're suffering from some kind of pain and they'll be wary of your approach.
- Investigate the passageway
Kill any Enemies whose attention you've attracted to make this a bit easier for you. The person will run away from you into some kind of passageway further north. Interact with the Blocked Passageway to investigate it. It seems Hader didn't want you following him.
- Search under the rubble for an alternative entrance to where Hader fled
Out of the three objective markers, it'll be the one marking the rubble that's farthest to the southeast that you'll want to go to. Interact with the rubble to find the entrance.
- Enter the Hideout Entrance
You'll have to enter the Hideout Entrance which is a Cellar in the game. You can find the Hideout Entrance on our Interactive Map here: [Diablo 4 Map Link].
- Find Hader inside the hideout
Move forward along the singular path into a big chamber to find Hader there. He might've blocked the path again with some objects which you can easily break.
- Speak to Hader
Talk to him behind his barricade and say, "We are both hunted by the Cathedral. I found your note." Sadly it seems Jazem never made it.
- Protect Hader from the Knights Penitent
There's no time to grieve, however, as it seems the knights have found this little hideout. This fight could be difficult, so keep on your toes. You'll be against some Knights Penitent who should pose no problem, but the Enemies are led by a Knight Penitent Captain who'll be an Elite Enemy with a whopping three Affixes - Teleporter, Suppressor, and Hellbound. Mind where he teleports around the field. Naturally, he'll have the largest Life pool among them, so take care of everyone else first so you can focus him down alone.
- Speak to Hader
After the fight, approach Hader and say, "You are safe for now." This will complete the quest.
